Hello
for some time now when I pick up my GIGASET A405 landline phone, I get an annoying beep that I can't get rid of. I would like to clarify that I don't have any voicemails but a phone number that I haven't answered, and I can't delete it. I'm with Free; can someone help me please?
thank you
best regards

Hello
A405 ??? isn't it AS405
Don't you have a voicemail message? Are you sure
At Free, a double tone is emitted if a message is left on the FREE voicemail
Excerpt from https://www.free.fr/assistance/65.html#step-2161
Another possibility is a warning tone (call log new messages or missed calls) or an alarm signal for low batteries Excerpt notice page 20

Very hard to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
Ok... this is not an AS405 but look at the inscription on the base it's AS405A. (the inscription on the handsets is misleading, as they can belong to two different bases).
The problem is apparently not with the phone but with your FREE operator's voicemail.
According to FREE support, you can access voicemail in two ways:
Online: https://www.free.fr/assistance/65.html#step-721
Via the TV: https://www.free.fr/assistance/65.html#step-2171
Try checking these two places...
If nothing changes, try calling your landline number with a mobile while having unplugged the power supply from the Gigaset base. Leave a message and then check the FREE voicemail again.
Also check how the voicemail triggering of your answering machine is set.
A good setting is 18 seconds (the FREE voicemail triggers after 5 rings, which is about 25 seconds)
Excerpt from the manual on page 20

Hello, thank you for your help. I finally managed to get rid of those beeps when answering.
I made **1 call and the number for my Free line was on my voicemail. I had three options: listen, save, and delete, which allowed me to remove the message from my voicemail. I also set the voicemail activation to 18 seconds as you told me.
Phew, finally free from those annoying beeps.
Have a nice day.
Best regards.

Yes, sorry, they are indeed Gigaset AS405
Should I check the tone, the alert, and the battery alarm?
I can't access my voicemail on my Freebox; it tells me I have no messages. Also, I have an unanswered call, and I think that's what's blocking me because I can't delete it. I'm only given the option to press 5 to call this number back, but nothing to delete it. In fact, since Free changed its interface, I've been having a lot of trouble
Best regards
I think it's unchecked considering your questioning.
If that's the case, that's not where the tone comes from.
Where is the missed call?
On the phone screen, is the icon representing an envelope present, does the button on the left (just below the screen) blink?
If so, open the call log to view the number(s) that called you. (see the manual on page 9 "Opening the call log")
Is your device indeed AS405 (without built-in answering machine - one button on the base) and not an AS405A (built-in answering machine with several buttons on the base)?
the missed call can be found in the freebox interface "management of my telephone services": "last missed call"
in the call log on my handsets there are no entries that appear when I check this way
and yes my device is indeed a gigaset AS405
I wanted to send you photos but I can't do it I'm being asked to activate java script but I can't find it
sorry for being so useless I know I've had this type of problem before but with the old interface I managed to remove those beeps when answering
kind regards
