Hello everyone,

I've already looked into a few topics about this, but the email I just received really scares me... no matter how much I try to reassure myself by telling myself it's nonsense, there's a part of me that believes it, so I would really like to hear your opinion on the matter!

Here’s the email, sent from an address ending in "bol.com.br", so it seems to be from Brazil:

"Hi my friend.

We have an adult website that you visited.

Don't be nervous! You're neither the first nor the last!

By visiting our porn site, your PC caught our software virus. Sorry....

The program saves everything you watch on the device and remembers the cookies of the pages visited.

Beware! Our software bomb activates the webcam and duplicates all emails from your email. We now have access to your private network correspondence.

In front of me! I have a video where you're naked and pleasuring yourself.

If you do not want me to deliver this video to your relatives, friends, agents, so that it doesn't end up on the web, on the most liked pages and postings online, I can choose the following resolution to this problem.

I also received the same email, except that I have never seen any porn site on my computer, and not even on my phone, so I think it's a scam.
P.S.: I was given 48 hours to pay them 520 euros, seriously!!!! This is really serious, it's becoming nonsense.

I received this email on Monday and honestly, I had a good laugh... because this so-called hacker sent it from a Tiscali email address that I haven’t used in at least 15 years, and... to my work inbox. Considering I work for the Ministry of Justice, it's quite amusing.

And then there's a flaw in his argument, he threatens to send who knows what to "all my contacts" except I have a social life that consists of my dog and my cats, I've never loved human contact and I have no friends, sooooo...

I wanted to reply to mess with him, but of course, fake address...

Between that and the fake emails labeled Apple telling me that my account has been hacked and thinking I'm foolish enough to give them my credit card number...

Hello,

I received this kind of email too, but it actually came from my own email address! Where it says that he can tell I opened his email and that he'll send the videos to my contacts.

Has this always turned out to be a fake for you?

Hello, I'm currently experiencing the same thing.
Don't stress, my number was hacked, simply: Fake my SMS, Fake my mail. A site where you can take any information and use it.... (which is chilling...).. this explains why the scammer goes to this site, creates an account, enters your number, your email.... and corresponds with other people..
One piece of advice, don't open the ones directed to spam, don't respond, and forget about it...

Here it is, I was finally despairing of ever receiving that infamous email telling me that I had visited porn sites and that if I didn't pay, he would send all the information to my contacts.

My question is: will he also send me the links because I've lost some addresses of gay BDSM porn videos I used to visit, and it would be really nice if he could give them back to me?

Otherwise, I had a stomach ache from laughing

but I remain frustrated because he didn't send me any proof, that's not cool.

I just opened it today, apparently I have 24 hours after opening this email to send 32 litecoins via a link, otherwise the virus will be sent to all my contacts. We'll see tomorrow at the same time!

Hello, I am on my 5th email in 10 days with a different email address each time I delete it...
It goes to the junk mail.... but it’s becoming exhausting...... I don’t visit porn sites and even if I did..... in no case would I give any amount of money to anyone..... so I do think it’s a scam indeed.....

I received some in my spam (2 in 2 days), discovered it several weeks later without having opened my inbox. Very funny, I wanted to reply (albeit late lol), but the address no longer existed. It's a big fishing scam, they cast a wide net hoping some will pay. They operate by bluffing.
When this happens, don't panic, take a screenshot, and report it on Pharos.
