Hello,
A friend sent me a photo on Messenger, and I saved it to my photo album on my iPhone.
Since I would like to know the exact date the photo was taken, I connected my iPhone to my PC, checked the properties of this JPG image by right-clicking on it, and the creation date is the date I saved the photo in my album.
I then tried to display the details of the folder where this photo is archived, switched to details view, right-clicked on the type, name, size... bar to check the creation date, but there is no data, and the rest is the date when I saved the photo in my album.
Since normally EXIF data is recorded onto the JPG file at the time the photo is taken, how can I find out the creation/taking date of the photo?
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows / Edge 17.17134

Hello,
- via Finder (on Mac) or File Explorer (on Windows) with a list view and by choosing the creation date as details
- using any viewer that can read EXIF data, for example Xnview
Furthermore, you may very well have a photo that no longer has EXIF data.
