Hello, since a reinstallation, I have a big issue finding the audio driver for an HP Pavilion dv 6000. It had VISTA on it and now it has Win 7 installed. Please, I can't find the correct audio driver and I need assistance. There is a red cross on the speaker icon and when I hover over it, it shows me "No audio output device is installed."

Configuration: Windows / Edge 16.16299

    Hello

saying HP dv6000 is just a range, you need to be more specific but the HP website is helpful. For example

    go to the website below
    https://www.touslesdrivers.com/?v_page=29
    click on "start detection"
the site will detect missing or outdated drivers
and will offer you the drivers to download

I don't see any of that. However, I see: USB Bus Controller and IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller and yellow exclamation points on Coprocessor and Unknown Device (in other devices).

By the way, for xylon, I just checked the system information and indeed the model is an HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC.
Regarding Mimi's suggestion, I also checked the site "touslesdrivers.com" and despite installing the suggested drivers, the problem persists.

I just tried the audio drivers from your link and unfortunately towards the end of the installation, I get the message "the detected device is not compatible" and the installation is interrupted. I'm wondering if it might be wise to revert to VISTA since the computer was purchased with that system, or if there is another way to install the drivers apart from double-clicking and following next.

Non Vista is crap, Win 7 is way better!!
In the same style as tousledrivers.com
      Try this site
      https://www.driverscloud.com/fr/demarrer
It will check your config and suggest the drivers.

    Hello,

Have you tried this one --> IDT Audio?
    Unzip it
    Run setup.exe

    Good evening,
For the kaneagle solution, I have the error message "Your hardware is not supported by this package" and the installation fails. I will try mimi's solution and keep you updated. Thank you in advance!

    Go to Start
    In the Search bar
    Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.

If there is an alert regarding the audio device:
Give the hardware ID number of the device
Look at this --> Find a device's identification number
Post the number in your next message.

What do you have in audio, video, and game controllers?

Hello, I checked the device manager and there are no audio, video, and game controllers listed, as Kaneagle had requested. Nothing like I mentioned above. I also followed Mimi's suggestions on the driverscloud website exactly, and the automatic detection yielded nothing regarding the audio.

Go into the BIOS and check if the audio device is enabled.

I am in the BIOS and I do not see the audio device. I have gone through all the sections (Main - Security - System Configuration - Diagnostics - Exit). However, the "Button Sound" setting is correctly enabled in the System Configuration section.

In the device manager, do you have a section --> other devices?
