Visual cue for the Caps Lock key
Solved
Hello,
I used to be on the Ubuntu distribution. I switched to Lubuntu. On the old distribution, a red visual cue indicated that the Caps Lock key was activated. On Lubuntu, this feature has disappeared. As a result, I sometimes type an entire sentence in uppercase (I don’t always read as I type) without realizing it, and then I have to delete and start over.
Please kindly answer this question: can I restore the missing feature on Lubuntu?
Michèle
Configuration: Linux / Firefox 58.0

Hello Michèle,
Can you tell us a bit more precisely where the red signal was displayed concretely? Would a tool like screenkey help you?
Good luck -
Hello again,
Actually, I think it’s more likely the indicator-keylock software.
Good luck-
Hello mamiemando, a bit忙忙忙? Actually text: "Bonjour mamiemando, un peu surbookée en ce moment, j'essaierai ça ce soir. Je te donnerai le résultat. Merci encore." But we must translate accurately. The phrase "un peu surbookée" means "a bit overbooked" or "a bit swamped" in feminine context. Since "j'essaierai" I will translate to "I'll try that tonight. I'll give you the result. Thanks again." Also "Bonjour mamiemando" becomes "Hello mamiemando,". Final translation: Hello mamiemando, a bit swamped right now, I’ll try that tonight. I’ll give you the result. Thanks again.

Hello mommimando,
I have installed indicator-keylock which only allows me to insert the numeric keypad into the indicators. But, when I click the link at the bottom of the page, I landed on an English page that seems to be the right one: Keyboard Modifiers State indicator For Ubuntu: Xkbmod Indicator. I will search from that. Thank you and have a great day. -
Ok, feel free to give us your feedback and tell us how you solved the problem at the end. What surprises me is that the page title on indicator-keylock plainly says that it is supposed to manage the "caps lock and num lock" and this tutorial video seems to confirm it.

So here it is, I finally managed to install, from indicator-keylock, a badge for Caps Lock and Num Lock. But these indicators are very small and black, whereas before (on Ubuntu) a bright red LED-ish indicator appeared at the top of the screen. But never mind, it's better than nothing; maybe there’s a way to improve this signal. Thanks again for guiding my search.

Try looking here:

Apparently it is possible to install themes; perhaps that will improve the rendering?
Good luck
