Good evening
I am taking the liberty of writing to you directly as I have a bit of an aesthetic issue, so to speak
I have a 2TB WD MyCloud and I just bought a WD Elements HDD that I renamed VIDEOS, but when I connect it to the WD MyCloud it appears as Element_XXX.
Is it possible to rename it without formatting????

Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 11.0.3

    Good evening,

With the disk connected and mounted, it appears on the Mac desktop. Click to select it, then press the "enter" key to highlight the name; simply type the new name in the window, and it will be recognized with the new name.

    Here's what it looks like:

When it's urgent, it's already too late (Talleyrand)
When everything has failed, read the manual ;)

Thank you for the reply, but my icon is a disk with 3 little figures, it is connected to a network hard drive, and I cannot change its name as usual.
Likewise, in information, I am also on Mac.

If you weren't on a Mac, I think you would have posted elsewhere ;-)
I don't know how network drives work, but I suppose you must be the network administrator to be able to change the name, by going to the base of the network. (Is the base a router?)

Maybe there's a trick: you connect just this single drive to your Mac and you should be able to change its name using the normal method.
