Missing audio driver

Hello everyone,

Following a previous topic (https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-35041807-plus-de-son-aucun-peripherique-de-sortie-audio-n-est-installe?login=1), I'm reaching out again for your help regarding the absence of sound on my Lenovo Yoga 3 PC.

It seems that a driver is missing on the PC for the sound to work again, and here is its hardware ID: SW\{96E080C7-143C-11D1-B40F-00A0C9223196}

Does anyone know which driver corresponds to this number?

Thanks in advance for your help
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 62.0.3202.94

Hello,
It seems that this number has no significance regarding the identification of the hardware; generally, the related number is described like this, example:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_105C1043&REV_09
Is the concerned PC this one, Yoga Home 500-22IBU?
Note it on a label under the PC if it is a laptop.
Regards.

Hello,

First of all, thank you very much for your response. My PC is a Lenovo Yoga 3 14-inch 80JH (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/fr/fr/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-3-1470/80jh?linkTrack=Homepage%3ABody_Search+Products&searchType=4&keyWordSearch=Yoga%25203-1470%2520Laptop%2520%2528Lenovo%2529%2520-%2520Type%252080JH%29

I can send you a Speccy report if needed.

But maybe the original problem doesn't come from there, so if you have other leads...

Press the Windows (flag) and R keys simultaneously, type devmgmt.msc and then OK.
Expand the line Game audio video controller, what do you have displayed there?

Hello,

Run an sfc:
Windows key + X
Select --> Windows PowerShell (admin)
Type --> sfc /scannow and press enter

A system file check will be performed.

Hello,

thank you for your reply. The scan found nothing.

I tried to manually install the Realtek driver via Device Manager: it installed, it's no longer in the hidden devices, but it remains disabled (in the properties: This device cannot start. (Code 10)
This request is not supported.)

If anyone has any other ideas...

I found this:

Go to the Start menu, search for Device Manager, and open it.
Expand the Sound menu, then Audio Settings
Right-click on the current audio driver, then uninstall it.
Finally, run a scan to detect hardware changes so that the PC can re-detect the device without a driver. It will then automatically install the correct driver.

Forget it, since you probably don't have the audio settings option.

Since when do you have this problem?

It must be almost a week now; I suspect a Windows update, but I'm not entirely sure...
Especially since I'm being very careful not to install anything random, and I haven't installed anything special recently.

I have had this problem since Sunday morning, that's the day I installed Windows.

Give the device identification number of the device
Look at this --> Find the device identification number
Post the number in your next message.

Is Windows 7, 8, or 10 --> 32 or 64 bits?

Thank you Benaquista

New data: I tried to uninstall the Realtek driver that I had installed via the utility for installing older generation drivers from the Device Manager to reinstall it in the same way (just in case)
Result: during the installation, I get a blue screen with the stop code "irql not less or equal" that's new

How did you proceed with the reinstallation? I personally tried a reset through the Windows settings.

Finally, I managed to reinstall the Realtek driver, but I still have this code 10.

Hello francou1, how did you find the correct number? When I select identification number in "details," I get the same number you provided at the beginning, which is the wrong one...

Try to follow the method in the Kaneagle link

Make sure to select the Realtek device and not another one.

I did what you told me, but I only have Microsoft's load balancing proxy.

It was still working this morning after reinstalling, but since an update, nothing works.

At first, it wasn’t there either
What I did for it to appear:

Device Manager, Action, Add legacy hardware
And then you select Audio controllers and then Realtek

Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits

Download this audio driver --> Realtek
and place it in your documents.

Right-click on the driver --> 64bit_.....exe
Select --> 7Zip
Choose --> extract to "64bit_....\"

Go to Device Manager.
Right-click on the device in question
Update driver
Browse my computer ......
Choose from a list of drivers...
Provide disk
Browse
Go to your documents
Go to the unzipped driver folder --> 64bit_.....
Folder --> win64
Select the file --> HDXRT.inf
Restart.

Hello,

Everything went well until the installation of the driver after selecting HDXRT.inf for the provided Disk.

An installation time elapses and then this message appears:

Go to the Device Manager
Right-click on --> Realtek High Definition Audio
Uninstall (including all drivers)

Windows key + R
Type --> control panel and OK

Programs and Features
Uninstall --> Realtek High Definition Audio
Restart the PC.

Go back to the Device Manager
Is the audio device still alert?
If yes, provide the full hardware ID number:
EX: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0260&SUBSYS_104319AD

After uninstalling as you indicated, only the hidden devices (Microsoft drivers, the external sound card of my headset, and Intel Sound for displays) appear in the Audio Controllers. Realtek (the only one that was not hidden) no longer appears.

I'll give this a try (I assume it works for Windows 10 since my PC runs on W10) but I'd like to point out that I've tried all types of recovery options offered in Windows 10 settings (full, keep my files, reset, etc...).

Hi, I just solved my sound problem, I need to reinstall a customized Windows, probably the one provided by the seller.
I recommend contacting the seller and asking for the Windows that corresponds to your computer by stating its reference.
If not, try a topic "create a customized Windows."

Good luck.
