Hello everyone!
So here's the problem: all my downloads are very limited (around 1.2 Mbit/s at most) and even while gaming it's very handicapping. I'm with SFR on ADSL and my box model is NB4-FXC-r2
I'm connected via Wi-Fi.
I accessed the modem interface by tinkering with a lot of things:
- I tried all the Wi-Fi channels comparing with the SFR test page and strangely the average is always between 9 Mbit/s and 12 Mbit/s even though I can't reach those speeds.
- I was running on IPv4 so I activated IPv6 since it has sometimes had a good effect on some users.
- I disabled the Hotspot.
- I set the speed manually to maximum in "maintenance/xDSL line".
- I set the radio mode to 54g (I only have auto, 11b, and 54g modes available)
For a while my download speed for a game went up to 45 Mbit/s after these changes! Eureka! But it was short-lived and I'm back to 1.2 Mbit/s... it's very frustrating... I don't understand
Here my downstream bandwidth shows 15998 Kbps. I've never reached it... does the bandwidth get shared among devices? We have 4 connected. Still, it's very low.
I should mention that when I'm connected via an Ethernet cable the result is almost the same... is the box wearing out? We changed it a little over 4 years ago.
The power supply of the box is plugged into a power strip with a phone and a desktop PC... does that matter? I also have a regular connection drop every 40 minutes or so only on Wi-Fi.
So I hope I haven't forgotten anything. I'm desperately calling on your knowledge :D
I feel like I've tried everything without success. ;-(
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hello,
The screenshot shows the speed of your ADSL line and yes, this speed is shared among all devices that are using the connection and "drawing" from it.
You are at 20 Mbps based on the speeds, which should correspond to the connection you subscribed to.
For the WiFi connection at 12 Mbps, refer to the standards on this page: https://www.malekal.com/le-wifi/
Apparently, your box only supports the 802.11b standard
For the WiFi speed, you have a theoretical maximum speed for the WiFi connection, but of course, if you are downloading from the internet, that goes through your internet connection and is limited by its own speed of ~20 Mbps.
You will achieve the maximum connection speed over WiFi if you are copying files from one computer to another within your local network (LAN).
Please press a key to continue the disinfection...

And the subscription I signed up for is the "power" subscription, which is a bit outdated, and I just saw that it's 20MB/s for €30?! That's weird ^^ and on other SFR pages, it's confirmed at 1Gb/s, I'm so lost! ^^
1 gb/s is fiber.
your street (and city) needs to be fibered.
