Tape stuck in the cassette adapter

Hello,
As indicated in the title, my cassette is stuck in the cassette adapter.
In other words, when we played the cassette using the adapter in the VCR, we removed it but now it’s impossible to take the cassette out of this adapter (photo below) because it won’t rewind.
Let me know if you understood correctly.

    Hello,

    you need to change the battery, it is located on the side under a small flap.

    It is this battery that allows the tape to rewind.

      Thank you for your response. I finally managed to solve my problem by removing the screws. I don't really know why, but apparently there was a loose connection.
