Hello everyone
If I double-click on a photo, Windows 10 invariably asks me to choose the default application to open a .jpg or .jpeg image.
I check the box "always open with ..." but nothing works. It doesn't open, and the same window reappears.
The same happens if I right-click on the image, then click "open."
However, if I right-click on the image and then choose "open with" any viewer (Photos, Paint, Photofiltre, etc.), my image opens fine.
Or if I launch a photo software (Paint, Photofiltre, etc.), I can import and view the photos without issue.
I've done a lot of attempts and checks (default applications, selection based on file type or protocol, etc.), everything seems to be well defined EXCEPT THAT MY PHOTOS DO NOT OPEN if I double-click on them! This is not an issue directly related to the viewing program, so what could it be?
Thank you for your help
PS: latest version of Windows 10

Hello,
We're going to make it a bit more complicated, but logically the photos should open automatically with the software of your choice.
Right-click on a photo and then Properties.
In the window that opens, click on Edit.
There, select the application you want and then click Ok.
Then close the first window by clicking OK.
The file should open automatically with the software of your choice. -
Daddy (nice, my daughter calls me that too :-)
But the solution is too simple for Windows 10.
My viewer of choice is well modified but the problem is not solved nonetheless! -
already tried
more complicated than that!
it's the "always open with" function that is not working
I'm despairing-
If the problem is recent, perform a system restore to a previous date.
