Hello,
I've been getting the "task host window" message since August when I restart or shut down my computer (it's an Acer). I've visited several forums to understand what it is and how to remove it because it slows down my computer's shutdown. I've done several complete scans with different antivirus programs, but it didn't help (including Kaspersky, Avira, Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner). Also, in the Task Scheduler, I disabled "Rac Task" (I had seen this fix on other forums), but there was still no change. I believe this message appeared when I installed several software programs I needed for a game, such as DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86), and AMD Catalyst (I admit I don't even know what these programs are for; next time I won't download just anything). That's it, I hope I explained the problem well.
Thank you in advance for your responses! :) (PS: I'm not very skilled in computing).

It’s simply an application or Windows updates or something else that are currently running and preventing the shutdown.
I see many threads on the forums with the same problem. Using the resource monitor, I see this task using 100% of disk activity (it can last more than 5 minutes).
I will test by disabling this scheduled task...
Best regards,
Since its deactivation, my PC has become smoother!!
