Integrated satellite TV tuner Solved

Question

Hello, I currently have a Philips flat screen TV, 12 years old, with a satellite dish. I currently have a STRONG SRT 7402 receiver, with a TNTSAT card, to receive all kinds of free channels. My satellite dish points to the ASTRA 19.2E satellite. I would like to switch to a UHD 4K LED TV. All models offer a built-in satellite tuner (DVB-S2 for example), some with access to CANAL. Question: Will I be able to do without my current receiver? Can I use the same TNTSAT card on the television, without needing my current decoder? Do I need to buy a card reader to insert into the TV? Will I have access to the ASTRA satellite, just like I do now, with the same channels? Thank you for your explanations.

Hello,  So "NO" you cannot do without your Tntsat receiver...  "NO" you cannot use the card directly on your TV...  "NO" you cannot insert a Tntsat decoder into your TV...  and again "NO" you will not have the same channels since the channels from Tntsat are encrypted, you will only be able to see the free (unencrypted) channels from the Astra 1 satellite.

Hello everyone!  Here is some information to understand and make your choice. But the best thing is to choose the TV that you want, then you'll see if you need a card or to keep your decoder.  According to your message in the other discussion, you are leaning towards Samsung https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-34869016-prise-casque-sur-tv-samsung#2 They are both listed for Fransat. So Fransat card or keep your TNT Sat decoder. One of them has started adding 4K channels. Read and verify the information as needed, depending on your choice. (And negotiate during the delivery/installation that they offer satellite adjustment, or a small commercial gesture, or ... nothing ventured, nothing gained)  In general, I give inexpensive tips, I don’t like to "tell people to buy." But in your case, you seem to be heading towards a good TV setup to treat yourself.
