Audio device issue

Question

Hello,Since last night, I have no sound. The icon in the taskbar has a white cross on a red background and says that no audio output device is installed.I’ve searched online, tried updates, disabled, restarted...nothing works.I am on WIN 10.Thank you very much in advance!

Hi  since your problem dates back to yesterday, perform a system restore to a date before your issue  press the Windows+R keys  in the window that opens, type RSTRUI.EXE and click OK  follow the prompts for the restoration...  if you have any questions...  see you later  -- the radiation level is higher at the job center than in Chernobyl

I have a /!\ in front of High Definition Audio Controller. I also had one in front of NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device. It told me that the driver was up to date. I uninstalled it following instructions on the Internet, and since then I can't reinstall it; I might have messed up.

Hi Kaneagle   there’s also this peripheral that JCM uninstalled/removed:   NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) Drivers   and he no longer has any devices in "audio, video, and game controllers"   I don’t have that category anymore. For now, let's leave it as it is.  Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits  Download this driver --> Chipset and place it in your documents.  Right-click on --> Chipset.zip Choose --> 7Zip Choose --> extract to "Chipset\"  Go to the device manager Right-click on the High Definition Audio Controller Update driver Browse my computer for driver software Browse Go to your documents Select the unzipped driver folder --> Chipset OK, next Restart   The human being is at its best when things are at their worst.

Go to the Device Manager Uninstall these 2 devices (including all drivers): --> NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device --> High Definition Audio Controller  Go to the Control Panel Programs and Features Uninstall everything related to audio, namely Realtek, VIA, HDMI (nVidia)...  Restart the PC and see what happens in the Device Manager.  -- The human being is at its best when things are at their worst.

Right-click on the High Definition Audio Controller
Choose --> Update Driver
Choose --> Browse my computer for driver software
Click on --> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer...
Click on --> Have Disk
Browse
Go to your documents
Go to the folder of the unzipped driver --> Chipset
Folder --> win7
Select the file --> PantHAud.inf
Restart.
