Flashing icons

Question

Hello, I've been having a problem for a few days now where the icons on my desktop are flickering, the same goes for those in the taskbar, and they have even started to disappear and change places. I've also noticed some slowdowns, which is very annoying. Could you please help me?

Configuration: Windows / Edge 15.15063

Start --> Control Panel --> Device Managers (if you don't see it, change the top right "View by: Large icons") ---> Graphics card:

If you have an Nvidia or ATI, you need to go to their website and download the drivers

If it's a standard card, right-click on it and update the driver

For Avast, you need to let it scan, even if it takes a long time.

Is it due to a Windows update? Have you by any chance changed your Windows version?

Yes, that's exactly it. I just had a Windows 10 update.

Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys simultaneously on the keyboard. If this action does not work, right-click the Start button located in the lower-left corner of the screen, then select Task Manager.

If Task Manager is not flickering, an application is likely causing the issue.

If Task Manager is flickering, a display driver is likely causing the issue.

Do this test and let me know if you encounter any of these cases.

Three applications are known to cause screen flickering in Windows 10: Norton AV, iCloud, and IDT Audio. In most cases, updating the application or requesting an update from the application's manufacturer resolves the issue.

Try to update the programs.

Have you tried updating your graphics card? Do you have an antivirus? Run a scan just in case.

How do we update this graphics card and I can't scan with Avast, the scan takes several hours.
