My account has been blocked, facebook is asking me for a photo

Good evening,

Since Thursday (that is, 3 days already), my account has been disabled by Facebook.

Let me explain my situation: Last week, I tried to log into Facebook using an anonymous proxy (just to avoid targeted ads), and Facebook indicated that the location was unusual and asked me to change my password. I did so!! And since then, I have not used a proxy to log into Facebook.

I log in normally, except that each time I log in, I mistakenly enter the wrong password, always putting in the old password, and when it said it was incorrect, I then entered the new password. I've been making the same mistake for almost a week. And last Thursday, Facebook notified me that it detected a suspicious login to my account and asked me to send a photo, but I have never uploaded a photo to my account!! So, I still sent a photo, and since then my account has been blocked!! And I haven't heard back from Facebook!!

Why do they ask for a photo? when we are not required to upload one!! In your opinion, could the fact that I logged in multiple times using the old password have caused my account to be disabled? Because to my knowledge, I haven't done anything that could violate Facebook :/

Thank you for helping me understand,

Have a good weekend

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 53.0

Hello

This is the new procedure from Facebook. First, they ask you for a photo. Then, if no comparison is possible, you will have to send your ID.

The fact that you entered the wrong password several times = suspicious activity = account blocked until you prove it's you...

;)

Good evening Sourisverte2,

It's exactly what I thought, Facebook has disabled it because of its passwords. Because out of reflex, I always kept entering the old password and then when I realize my mistake, well I correct it by retyping the new password. This explains my situation. It reassures me because I haven't done anything that would violate Facebook's guidelines. But just one question, I don't dare to send my ID card, it's risky!! So, would I lose my account if that were the case? If that's the case, oh well, but I wouldn't venture to give my personal data to Facebook. Thank you.
