Echo Clap 2 Phone and Orange Mobicarte?

Hello everyone!

I would like to give a mobile phone to an elderly person in my family.
This person only wants to use the phone in case of an urgent need, solely to call someone or receive a call + SMS. So, no smartphone or anything else.
My choice is based on the: "Echo Clap 2".

However, this phone is "empty" and this elderly person does not yet have a mobile phone number.
I therefore intend to go to Orange, get a "SIM card" and a "mobicarte/prepaid card", which this person will renew when needed.

My question is the following:
Will this "Echo Clap 2" phone (purchased from a place other than Orange) be compatible with an Orange mobicarte/prepaid card?
Or do I need to choose another subscription plan?
Or do I need to buy a phone from Orange that is compatible with this mobicarte?

    Well, the deal is done.
    - Purchase of the Echo Clap 2 mobile phone from a telecommunications distributor
    - Purchase of the first SIM card from Orange
    - Top-up with prepaid card using Orange Mobicarte

    This elderly person is delighted to have their first mobile phone and their first mobile phone number.

      The choice of the phone is good, but the choice of the prepaid card can indeed be costly.

      A 5 € card valid for 6 days... meh.

      Hello, I completely agree with you that a €2 plan with Free without a subscription would have been more sensible! It is true that this can only be done online, but a family member can take care of that!

    It's not at all a €5 card for 6 days!

    But it is a €25 Mobicarte valid for 2 months with unused credit rolled over each time (purchased in the store because this elderly person has no intention of paying online with their credit card).

    She wanted a mobile phone just in case she needed to make or receive a call + occasionally send/receive SMS. No question of internet browsing or touchscreen for her.

      Having transformed 4 prepaid cards into a monthly subscription for elderly family members (average age 88), I can tell you that the calculation is quick: over a year you can call 4 times longer for 6 times less. (One must take into account the price of the SIM card which is between 0 and 10 €)

      However, you have to agree to provide your bank details to this new operator.

    For now, this elderly person has made the choice I mentioned in my previous posts. She will see in the future if she wants to change.

    For your information, for this elderly person, it is not a problem to provide her bank details (RIB) for a monthly direct debit, but rather to make a direct payment, whatever it may be, online that this person does not want to do at all.
