Hello,
I have been experiencing startup problems with my HP Pavilion G7 laptop for several months. I constantly have to remove the memory module, put it back, and then start the PC as many times as necessary until the computer displays the HP welcome screen instead of a black screen. This process can take up to an hour....
I have another HP Pavilion G7 laptop with a broken screen, but it seems to start up without any issues unlike mine. So, I'm wondering if I take the screen, the memory module, and the hard drive from mine and install them on the one I have, will the recovered laptop work normally? Will I be blocked at startup by the previous owner's password (I do not know the password)?
Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice.
Sincerely,

Good evening,
I'm wondering if I can recover the screen
if the panel reference is the same, it's possible
my hard drive and I install everything on the one I recovered
If you have an OEM version of Windows, you may have authentication issues, as the Windows license is linked to the “motherboard and hard drive pair.”
blocked at startup of the recovered computer by the password of the previous owner
It's possible.
But why don't you put the RAM from the recovered PC into yours to try???
Do you have any other problems once it's started?

Hello,
Thank you for your response gugu01. Actually, I only got the laptop, without the hard drive or the memory stick.
How can I tell if I have an OEM version of Windows?
"Do you have any other problems once it starts?" Yes, once I start my HP Pavilion G7, it blows like crazy and as soon as I stop using it for a while, the screen goes black and I can't do anything, even though the computer is still running because it's making noise and the indicators are on...
Could this problem be caused by my memory stick?
Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice.

Best regards,
Could this problem come from my memory module?
Yes, a faulty memory module can cause a black screen.
But since the fan is running at full speed, it could be overheating.
A black screen could also be a problem with the motherboard or the graphics chipset or ...
A simple incompatibility issue with the graphics driver and Windows.
1 > Which Windows do you have?
Is your license OEM?
To find out: http://www.varcap-informatique.net/tutoriels/savoir-jai-version-oem-boite-de-windows-10-pc/
(of course, don't give your key)
2 > Perform a hard reset:
_ turn off your PC, remove the charger, the battery, and the BIOS battery (the flat button battery, which on HP is usually accessible by removing the access cover to the hard drive and RAM)
_ hold the power button for 2 minutes.
_ Replace the BIOS battery, reconnect the charger but not the battery.
_ restart and let me know if there is any improvement.
3 > Boot in safe mode and let me know if there is any improvement.
(I don't know your Windows, so I can't give you the instructions. Hopefully, you know how to do it; otherwise, ask again)
Just in case:

or
Boot and force the computer to shut down 4 to 5 times in a row, and Windows should show you the startup options menu.
4 > To test your hard drive and RAM:
Put your hard drive and RAM on the recovered PC (if access is easy, like a simple cover)
Knowing it doesn't have a screen, just start it up and display on an external screen (HDMI to your TV, for example). You may need to press a keyboard key that changes the screen.
5 > Do you have these black screens when you start it after several hours of inactivity?
(in clear, does the PC show black screens even when cold)
These "phases" (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) are independent; they're not a single test.
When you respond to me, the simplest way will be to follow the numbered steps and provide detailed results.
