Beware of those who speak well of Photobox, for half of them are their own employees.  Here is my experience with these so-called photography professionals; for my part, I will never go to them again.  Personally, I was attracted by a free trial. The shipping costs were to be paid, so far, so good. I then ordered a print of 30 photos. I was of course charged in less than fifteen minutes. Then nothing for a month...  I called customer service, their response was "I swear to you, my dear sir, we sent it to you yesterday." I waited another week. I called them again and threatened to file a complaint with the fraud department and to take action in the small claims court, and lo and behold, I was no longer treated as a mere procedure to follow on the customer service script. In short, they offered to reprint "at their expense" (as if they were so generous) my photos.  I received them: a pitiful and battered quality box, dark photos with stains, colors that come from who knows where... With my HP 1320, I might have had better results.  Never again.

Hi there. Nothing beats development by a professional with a storefront. I take a lot of photos, I get them developed at Ph*x.  Fast, paper and ink guaranteed, a little more expensive than online, but at least I have quality and I don't have to mess around downloading photos whose fate I don't know once they're online. --  `'-•-.¸Capable of both the best and the worst, but at worst, I'm the best.¸.-•-'´

Photobox treats its customers a bit like pigeons: the packs (pre-paid prints) have a limited lifespan. They don’t notify, they don’t apologize, and they don’t offer compensation. Honestly, it's not glorious; I advise any potential customer to consider other offers, and those who have purchased packs to use them as quickly as possible.  You have been warned.

I also advise against this site. I had my wedding photos printed ... well, I tried. During the upload, the photos looked great but I received them pixelated, the heads were cut off!!! In short, it seems that all the photos need to be resized ... at what point, I have no idea, but in any case, more than half of my order is to be thrown away!!  So, a site to be DISCOURAGED!!!

Yes, once again I DO NOT RECOMMEND! In addition to the quality issues (too dark for my taste) They make DELIVERY ERRORS! I received someone else's photos, and since a name and a city were on the index, I contacted them. Unfortunately, he didn't receive my photos nor his, but those of a third party! After a week, Photobox refunded my account, but I have to redo my entire order, and they invite me to "destroy these prints that do not belong to you." I am very reassured to know that my children's photos have gone to strangers who will gladly destroy them rather than misuse them... Since they haven't contacted me!

It smells like a scam: I canceled an order 2 days after placing it. The refund time was supposed to be 15 days, and it's been a month and I still haven't received anything. Hello,  I have been using Photoways for years, which is part of Photobox, and recently Photobox (the same site as Photoways, but different promotions at the same time, so it's either one or the other).  Regarding quality, no issues at all (Photos taken with a Nikon D300 shot in RAW and processed with Capture NX to make full-resolution JPEGs). Very good colors.  Regarding delivery times, never had any problems; additionally, once I received my order twice because they must have detected an issue on the production line and sent out an entire series at their expense to be sure.  As for objects: very professional and sturdy photo book (unlike foto.com for example), I have already made several types for different occasions. Cards and invitations have been no problem either. I have always received everything on time!!!  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a site.

I placed an initial order, no issues with quality or delivery, but nearly a third of the photos were duplicates, so that was my first disappointment.  I bought a pack, and out of 689 photos, 67 were duplicates and even triples, so that was my second disappointment, and the biggest disappointment is the customer service that is messing with me because they have learned a script and systematically give you the same speech. There are no humans working in this shop, just robots. The big scam is that they ask me to return the duplicate photos, which I'm okay with, but here's where it gets complicated: I have to return them at my own expense, and after checking for errors and quality control, they may consider resolving the issue and give me a credit for the return shipping costs. This is a sneaky way to make some cash.  What shocks me the most is the phrase "quality control" – it means nothing, but I'm at risk of sending back the photos at my expense, and since they are not honest, I risk losing out on the shipping costs as well.  Conclusion: BEWARE, this site is extremely dishonest.

People who are looking to complain about a problem always come to this forum. But happy people don’t come here. That's why it's important to always put bad experiences into perspective. When a photo lab has millions of orders, it's logical that there is a slight percentage of issues. For those who want to test Photobox for free, don't forget that they offer free photo prints to discover their lab: http://ww12.uphoto.fr  Personally, I think very highly of it!

Hello, I would like to respond to your comments regarding Photobox. Indeed, Photobox has improved a lot lately. Two years ago, I ordered a photo album and there was a small scratch. I contacted them and very quickly I received another luxury book that was of very good quality, along with apologies for the issue....  Since then, on every occasion, I place my order with Photobox; the prices are really reasonable compared to the quality that I can't find elsewhere.  So, I highly recommend this site because, contrary to what some people say to tarnish the image of this company, it is a quality business and I find it unfortunate that people like its competitors intervene on this site....  There you go, I am very sincere in saying all this because I don't like lies and injustice.

Hello;  I just read the email sent by Mr. Michel and I agree with his opinion regarding Photobox, I genuinely believe that it is quality work for reasonable prices and I would even say that it is much cheaper than going to a private photo lab.  I would like to highlight the care put into protecting our order during its transit to our home.  Indeed, my order, unlike other packages I receive, was very well taken care of as it was excellently packaged with some code numbers (that must be order numbers... for me it’s 318). It is true that usually the packages I receive are a bit damaged, nearly all crumpled up, but with Photobox, it was almost like a gift wrapping and this is also the opinion of my family and friends to whom I have recommended this site.  So I also recommend this site  and congratulations to Photobox.

It's true that the shipping costs sometimes drive me a bit crazy, but it's the same everywhere... I have ordered several products (photos, posters, mugs, ...) and I have never had any quality issues! Just be careful when validating your cart; that's when you risk doubling your order, especially if you go back! PS: I also don’t work at Photobox!!

I had the opportunity to order prepaid packs of cards and photo books through a private sales site. Given the price, I took the plunge thinking whatever happens, happens!  I made a first order of personalized cards for the holidays, with some photos of my little ones... I received them a few days later, and the deadlines were met. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the materials and the final result! I received only compliments! The cards were packaged in a nice box.  The layout software is easy to use.  I then ordered a Prestige photo book right after.... As for the software, it is also easy to use, although some other sites offer more suitable and simpler software. I had a bit of a hard time composing the different pages; the layouts are quite limited in my opinion, and the photo formats were rather unsuitable... But after a few loooong hours, it turned out to be something quite nice, if I may say so!  A few days later, I received the photo book, and once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the result... I won’t be making any more classic albums, believe me! You can optionally modify the paper weight and choose a matte cover instead of a glossy one (which I did)... really superb!  In short, as far as I'm concerned, I recommend Photobox, a site that no longer needs to prove itself!

Having developed the same photos elsewhere, the "photos" I received from Photobox.fr were of abysmal quality. The paper used is not really photo paper. There is a big problem with the colors: washed out colors that differ from the original hues. Large pixels appear on quite a few photos.  I wouldn't describe the product I received as "photo development," but rather as a failed attempt to print images on low-quality paper.  In short, huge disappointment. Site to avoid. Next time, I'll go to a specialized store. It will be faster, and the result (having tested it) will be real photos.

Hello everyone,  Unfortunately, I confirm the various negative reviews about this site. I received a discovery offer for a free 30X40 collage, with only the shipping fee of €6 to pay instead of around €16. This was very appealing for a trial. The transfer and usage of the photos on the site went very smoothly. The delivery was very fast. However, the product delivered was damaged! It had been poorly rolled and there were very marked creases present on the collage. So I contacted customer service directly through the site to request a new poster. No news!! Worse, I received a customer satisfaction follow-up form after this purchase where I explained my problem again, and still no news. This clearly shows the indifference and lack of follow-up from customer service. If they don't want to respond to their customers, they would be better off saving money and time by not sending out forms to ask for users' opinions on their site. I strongly advise against this site as one would expect quality work during promotional offers to attract customers, but that is not the case. Imagine if you paid the full price and had a problem!! Why would they care about you when you footed the bill!! It’s even less interesting for them. In summary, move on and look elsewhere.

One thing surprised me: I had downloaded photos and they are no longer there, and when I log in, sometimes a page says "photoways" instead of photobox... Now, I was a customer of photoways before but I stopped because I was disappointed several times: photos of poor quality or photo errors... When I saw the Photobox promotion: "your first photo book free," I thought it was for me! And cherry on top, the same promo says - and with no asterisk other than it must be your first order - that the book can be from 26 to 100 pages => Perfect for having a nice memento of my vacation!! Except that the software for creating the book is terrible: the layout is very difficult because the pages appear very small, the text areas are unmodifiable,... in short, I spent hours making my book but hey, if it's free, I can understand (they won't get me twice, I thought) and when I went to order, SURPRISE: I had to pay 55 Euros!!! And then I thought it was impossible to throw away all the work I did :-( I contacted customer service 4 times and they didn't want to hear anything, IN FACT WHAT WAS FREE WAS ONLY THE FIRST 26 PAGES!!! In their ad, they just say the book is worth €32.95 but don’t mention the number of pages! But their ad didn't say that, too many customers would only make 26 pages!!! Especially since when you add pages to the books, they don’t say what the associated cost is!! That would be too honest! Not a single commercial gesture :-(((( I find this method dishonest and I hope many of you will read me to avoid being misled and to limit yourselves to 26 pages. Hello. I had major issues with Photobox. Some photos were poorly cropped for printing. The people I spoke to on the phone didn’t understand anything I was explaining... Finally, after hours spent sending emails and making calls, I managed to get someone who acknowledged their mistake. They then credited my account so I could reorder the prints... but I had to pay the shipping fees again... which I had already paid the first time.... not to mention the additional costs I incurred to resend the prints.... In short, an endless story, and €50 down the drain! Not to mention the time and energy wasted. Thanks, Photobox!!!!!!!!!

Hello, If you enjoy getting ripped off like a pigeon, try the "sell your books" service from PhotoBox. Principle: -You prepare a book with your pictures -You put it up for sale, mainly to your friends, acquaintances, the parents of your classmates, etc., and you set a MARGIN. Let's empirically fix it at 10.00 euros including tax for the rest of the reasoning (which is 8.36€ excluding tax). -Photobox gives you back 90% of the net margin, which is 8.36*0.9=7.52€ -The difference is 10.00-7.52=2.48€, or nearly 25% of the extra price your buyers paid!  Tip: have your books made somewhere other than PhotoBox, they will be of better quality, the turnaround times will be much shorter, you'll pay less, and by reselling them around you, you can offer your buyers a 25% discount while keeping the same margin level!  Say hello to Sophie, who might chime in to say that "No, no, no, oh no, not at all, and blah blah, I’m confusing you, come get plucked, my duck..."

I ordered an A3 calendar for €26 after all. Everything was respected except the essential part, the quality of the images. Dull, lifeless, overexposed prints... In short, a job that clearly wasn't checked. I would have preferred to wait two more days and have a satisfactory result. Furthermore, the customer service is unreachable. You just end up with one of those robot answering machines and it leads nowhere. I paid €26 to learn that I should avoid photobox. The calendar is in the trash.

Hello, I am one of the victims of Photobox! I bought 3 vouchers on Groupon (CityDeal) almost 3 months ago to create photo albums. I don't know how I managed to make one... but for the second one, I spent 2 whole days trying to layout the album, only to see the site crash at the end of all my efforts and my work disappear! I am furious. I was foolish enough to buy these vouchers (3!!!) before checking Photobox's reputation, and I think I have paid dearly for my mistake! And from what I've read here, I'm not even sure I'll receive my first album... So at least let my stupidity serve as a warning to others.

It's a scam! I placed an order on December 17 for a Christmas gift. Half of the homepage of the site indicated that delivery of orders was guaranteed for Christmas. According to the site, the order was supposed to be shipped on the 20th, yet here we are on the 23rd and the post office still hasn't received my package. In fact, Photobox is able to create tracking numbers, then they send the packages to the post office whenever they feel like it. I know that my package is still in their premises (since it hasn't been processed by Colliposte yet) and they're making me believe it was sent. This is unacceptable. This is misleading advertising. Moreover, I tried to contact them and after waiting for 10 minutes (at 15 cents a minute) for someone to respond, they cut off the call. Kudos to their customer service!

As for me, I ordered a photo book from Photobox a week before Christmas, feeling confident after seeing the red banner "delivery before Christmas" on the product in question. As a result, they sent me a standardized email on December 28 to tell me they had just finished manufacturing it and that they were shipping it. When I informed their customer service about the problem (no gift for Christmas), they blamed everything on the postal services, claiming it took too long to deliver... So, Photobox is done for me.

Like many people in this post, I do not recommend Photobox at all. For an order of 3 photo books that were supposed to arrive well before Christmas, they only shipped one with a 7-day delay. Then nothing more. I contacted them via chat, and they assured me that everything was fine. Ultimately, after Christmas had passed, I contacted them once again (through chat since their phone service oddly didn’t recognize my order number) and they finally decided to ship the rest of the order - which had of course been charged to my account quite some time ago...  When I then asked for a gesture of goodwill for ruining Christmas for two people who found themselves without gifts despite their commitments, they credited me with 30 classic prints... Shipping costs were on me, of course. Nice for an order of over €100...  I therefore strongly advise against it!!!

The site is very complicated, and photo books are particularly difficult to create, considering that the layout options are very limited... The paper of the photo books is frankly terrible!!! So there’s not much point in making a photo book... And the customer service is frankly incompetent.

Hello,  I see that not everyone is happy with Photobox's services, so I'll share my own misadventures. Having ordered an album a week before last Christmas, I was assured that deliveries would be made before the big day (this was, of course, a gift). I wouldn't have been too upset if it had arrived a few days late since there were issues with the postal service (strikes, etc.).  However, I had to wait 10 days before I could contact their customer service (this is the time frame before making a complaint): let's just say this is the company’s policy. The link provided in the email confirming the dispatch of my order directed me to the RoyalMail UK website, and the tracking number yielded nothing on their site, nor on the postal service's site (which was the carrier I had requested). When I finally spoke to someone at customer service on the phone, they explained to me that my package had been sent by DHL and that I needed to handle the process to retrieve it myself. I struggled for an additional 15 days with DHL to have them route my package to a different address than the one where I was spending Christmas. I followed up with customer service to see if they could do anything directly with DHL, but the answer was no, figure it out yourself. I requested a refund for my order in mid-January and never received a response. In the end, ordered on December 17, received on January 20... (a few days after my refund request via email) great service!  In this line of work, the product is just as important as the service; I spent more time on the phone than it would have taken me to print it myself.   Matthieu

I'm disappointed with Photobox without having placed an order (a lesser evil).
They offer an ad for 100 free photos. In the example of the spam, shipping is €1.99. I upload my photos on the site and they ask me for €7.99 for shipping, which is twice as much as other sites, 4 times more than expected.
So I went to Photoweb, for example, which for €7.97 offers me 100 photos delivered as a welcome offer.
The customer service at Photobox was polite enough to respond:

"I’m getting back to you because I noticed that you wanted to benefit from the 100 free prints upon your registration and that you evaluated the shipping costs based on the example provided on the site (€1.99 in the example). You should not rely on this example."

Why give an example then, if not to misleadingly entice a customer!!

Hello  I’ve had the same problems as everyone posting here. I ordered a photo album through Vente privée. I used my credit on July 17, 2011, to make a “gift” album. Today is September 4, and I still don't have my order. The first time, it was after calling customer service at 15 euros excluding VAT that I learned my order had been canceled.... The second time, I had to redo a large part of the creation because the photos, which I believed to be of good quality and an graphic designer agreed, were considered unacceptable by the site. Anyway, I placed my second order on August 11, and my order still hasn’t arrived. I had received the attached email on August 24:  Dear Madam XXXXXXX, I am following up on your inquiry regarding your order no. 8XXXXXX for a Prestige A4 Photo Book. I have noted that you would like information regarding the progress of this order. After checking, I see that the production of your album has been delayed. We apologize for this. To optimize the shipping of your package, I am changing the delivery method to Chronopost 24h. As for me, I have been developing photos with Photobox for several years in eco format (very interesting prices on the market). The quality is acceptable. Always delivered on time.
I recently made thank-you cards for a wedding. I was happy with them, especially since they delivered 30 extra by mistake... still no problems with the delivery.
Then I started using photo books. Uploading photos is long and mandatory on their site. The choice of books is varied, prices initially seem reasonable compared to their presentation, and there are many discounts. Assembling the photo book is quite easy, but there are few choices regarding backgrounds, frames, rounding photo corners or anything else. I am particularly disappointed with the quality upon delivery of the books (on time, no problems with customer service on my part): the paper quality is not great, the color rendering of the chosen background does not match the visual, the covers and the softcover books do not seem sturdy... in short, disappointing value for money. These 100-page books were worth over 100 euros... Luckily, I took advantage of a 60% off promotion. However, I ordered 4 of the same format but not the same quality (2 premium and 2 luxury) at the same time to pay for only one shipping fee... they delivered them in two packages: so 2 shipping fees (8 euros each). Too bad. As long as I wasn't disappointed with the quality, it wasn't a deal-breaker, but now, it's another argument against it.
I recently learned about "Fujifilm Photogenie" from a friend, which seems much better: quality of photo paper and much better rendering, no need to upload photos to their site since you download software on your computer that allows you to directly retrieve your photos from your photo library, a wide choice of backgrounds and framing, book options (formats) similar to what Photobox offers, and apparently much better value for money.
So forget Photobox, choose Photogenie or another one!

to avoid... I just bought a promotional package... Photobox charged my account and when it was time to place the order, they billed me at full price... I called: they lost the order but they definitely emptied my account!

WARNING !! Photobox, I say no and no again! I used to order from Photoservice, but this time I needed faster delivery. So I ordered my photo book from them (€66, which is over €10 more than at Photoservice...) I selected an option for a matte cover, and I thought they would show me an example, but... nothing at all! I then tried to deselect the option, but it was impossible to go back to the page, even when starting the order from the beginning; we are forced to pay for the option and cannot return to our choice... Order placed, I check my photo book just in case. When you see it like that, no problem, everything is fine. But when you enlarge the pages in your photo selection.... TERRIBLE QUALITY! Awful! And we only have 30 minutes to change the order... except that being in class, it's impossible to do anything for an hour... As a result, I have to wait to be delivered to request a refund; it's impossible to cancel the order. And even upon receipt, I'm not sure I'll be refunded; they're the ones who will decide if it's possible or not... Thank you, Photobox!  I highly recommend Photoservice, who always provide PERFECT image quality and are very professional regarding deadlines and shipping. Plus, they regularly have discounts during the holiday season. And I don't work for them, just to reassure you...
