Hello,

Being naturally curious! I would like to know, even if I'm told: "it's not a big deal"
"let it be like that".. "It's working!"...
The hidden system reserved partition refuses to be defragmented and "optimized" despite showing 100% fragmentation (according to what the PC says!)
However, the other two partitions are being defragmented just fine: C and
PQ service!... I changed the setting from: "every week" to "every day". But nothing has changed!!
Otherwise, the PC seems to be working well!?

NOTE: This is a Laptop: "eMachines" G627 v1.07 originally equipped with Windows 7 on which I installed (6 months ago) Windows 10 without any issues!!

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 51.0

So, keep "messing around" with the hidden partitions and soon you'll be sending us a post saying: my PC won't boot anymore/doesn't work anymore.. what should I do??
Don't you think that if this "system reserved" partition is hidden, it's JUST so that the average person doesn't touch it!!!
If you want to break your PC, keep going like this.. otherwise, I can give you some solutions.

  Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!! But we misunderstood each other! Maybe I expressed myself poorly!? I should have specified: The automatic defragmentation is not happening!
  I haven't "played around" with the partitions at all!!! As you say!!.. I haven't touched them! I am just noticing the non-defragmentation of only one partition: "System reserved," which should happen automatically by the system itself! (Whereas with the other 2, it does happen automatically)..
  On the said partition, in the window: "Optimize Drives", it says: "Needs optimization (100% fragmented).." While on the other 2, it says: OK (0% fragmented).. In this window, you can also see at the bottom left: "Drives are automatically optimized".. Normally every week (by default).. But you can also set it to: "Every day"
  So I would like to know why it is not happening on that partition!!
  I hope I have made myself a bit clearer?
  If someone can inform me? Thanks in advance!
  ... And I remind you that I haven't played around with the partitions!! Playing around is not something I usually do!

Hello

The "system reserved" partition is, as its name suggests, reserved for the system.
It is only used for booting the machine.

I think you can defragment it, if you like, by right-clicking, properties, defragment.
I did it on a machine running Windows 7.
On Windows 10, my PC is UEFI, so there is no system reserved partition.

Automatic defragmentation will only occur on partitions that need it and have a drive letter.

But there is no downside to it being fragmented.

And, as Sergio said, be careful when touching partitions.....

  Well, NO, it doesn't work on my PC!? It's on Windows 10, but the BIOS is not UEFI (See my first "Post": Windows 10 was installed for free at Microsoft's suggestion: I did it a few days before July 29, 2016.)

    On UEFI PCs, there is no "system reserved" partition.
    This partition is used by the system to boot.
    There are only a few folders/files.
    
    It is possible that during the transition from Seven to Win10, the copying/modifying of files caused this partition to become fragmented.
    But, once again, it is not a problem (despite the message), this partition is only used for booting.
    
    On a VM (virtual machine) running Win10, this partition is 0% fragmented on my end.
    And I can manually defragment/optimize it.
    
    If it's on an SSD, there is no defragmentation, but rather optimization.

    Yes, it's a small "flaw"!!?? Not bothersome. But as I mentioned in my first "Post," I am naturally curious! ;-) It is indeed curious that on 2 partitions: "C: " and "PQSERVICE", everything works fine! In Auto, and even in Manual (in several passes!)... Yet on the last one: "SYSTEM RESERVED", nothing works, neither in Auto nor in Manual... ????
