Hello,
I retrieved a desktop PC equipped with 4 HDDs of 2TB each, working in RAID mode, plus 1 of 300GB on which Windows 10 is installed.
AMD Phenom(tm) +9500 quad-core 2.20 GHz / RAM 8.00 GB
I want to keep the small disk with Windows 10 and 1 2TB disk, which is more than sufficient for me, switching back to a standard disk management system instead of RAID.
I have done a complete backup of the documents on an external HDD.
Is there a simple way to proceed?
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 51.0

To remove your RAID, you need to enter your BIOS by pressing a key when restarting your computer (usually delete).
Once in your BIOS, look through all the sections using the arrows (Integrated peripherals, Drives, Advanced settings,...) to find the RAID function that you can then disable by pressing enter and using the arrows.
Best regards

Thank you acohen612 for your quick response.
At startup, I have the option with the CTRL+F keys to access the "Raid Option Rom utility":
- view drive assignments..................1
- define LD......................................2
- delete LD......................................3
- controller configuration....................4
none of the keys 1 to 4 are operational (I suppose I need to remove RAID mode first?)
In my BIOS, under the "integrated peripherals" section, I have:
- PCI IDE busmaster ...........enabled
- on-chip SATA controller.......enabled
- RAID mode/options:
. IDE
. RAID (currently highlighted)
. AHCI
Can you confirm that by setting the BIOS to IDE mode instead of RAID
I can keep my small drive with Windows 10 and remove the 3 unnecessary disks, and regain normal operation?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Do you care about your RAID data?
Are your drives IDE or SATA?
Switching your motherboard back to IDE or AHCI (for SATA drives) shouldn't delete your data, but it all depends on the RAID you are using (RAID 1, 2, 5, 10)

All the drives are SATA
Actually, everything on the 4 RAID drives (documents, photos, etc...) is backed up on an external hard drive. However, I want to keep my Windows 10 drive, which appears alone in the disk management, unlike the other 4 that are grouped into a single global unit.
I don't know what type of RAID I have: where can I find this information???
Thanks again
