Online on Facebook when we're not

Hello,
I have a problem with Facebook
It has happened to me several times and I can't take it anymore because it brings me problems and arguments with friends sometimes
My friends tell me that I'm online, they've even taken screenshots while I'm either sleeping or busy, but surely not on Facebook
I sometimes wake up to a ton of messages from my friends asking why I'm not answering calls or messages while I'm online
I explain that I was sleeping and that I wasn't online
Once again, they send me a screenshot and yes, it's showing me as online even though I wasn't on Facebook
What is the solution
How can I fix this bug or issue
It's repetitive and it's too much

    Good evening,
    It's the problem with Facebook that is super intrusive...
    Do you always keep your account open? (if so, it's not a good idea)
    Just think about "deactivating the chat" (at the bottom right, where the discussions are) to go offline.
    Otherwise, do you have Messenger on your phone? If so, as long as your phone is connected to the internet, you appear online. And obviously, there's no possibility to log out of Messenger; if you want to do that, you have to clear the app's cache to no longer appear online.

      So do I need to remove Messenger too
      Is there really no way to keep Messenger and not appear online when I'm not?

        Maybe, but I didn't find out how. Just turn off your Wi-Fi at night instead.
        Or like I said, clear the app's cache in your phone's settings. It will log you out, but every time you do that, you'll have to enter your password & username again to use it.
        So, I think it's easier to cut off your internet access when you sleep.
