Missing numbers? Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that you're missing a few
examples from your series? Because they are indeed sorely lacking in
your statement! It's far too vague! ;)
If your series of numbers is a mathematical series, or a series
like the ones you can find in logic games or psychotechnical tests, there is indeed a logic that, if we find out what it is, will allow us to find the last number. However, such series can be so varied that I don't think there is a formula or trick to discover it.
However, with Excel, if you input your series of numbers, perhaps using the solver with a target value could help?
Or better yet: the statistical tools for linear estimation, with linear regression lines and extrapolations?
I willingly leave it to another participant to provide you with a better answer than mine!

You do not explain to us how your starting situation is recorded in the file, nor what you wish to obtain in the file afterwards.
If you record your starting series in line 1, one value per cell, you could record in line 2 formulas indicating how many values are missing in the series. Is that what you are looking to obtain?- Hello yg_be

one number in each cell from "A2" to "M2"
Starting situation for the combinations of six (06) digits to be completed with the missing digits.
So, for example if my combination is:
in A2 "1"/ in B2 "2"/ in C2 "3"/ in D2 "7"/ in E2 "9"/ in F2 "11"
What I am looking to have:
in A2 "1"/ in B2 "2"/ in C2 "3"/ in D2 "4"/ in E2 "5"/ in F2 "6"/ in G2 "7"/ in H2 "8"/
in I2 "9"/ in J2 "10"/ in K2 "11"/ in L2 "12"/ in M2 "13"
