Hello everyone

After experiencing a crash of the Epson Scan software, I undertook to completely uninstall and then reinstall the Epson driver and Epson Scan software according to Epson's procedures.
Upon starting Windows XP, my scanner is correctly recognized and stated to be functioning properly. However, when I open the Epson Scan software, a few seconds after opening, it disappears from the screen and ends up minimized in the taskbar, with no option other than to close it. It's impossible to scan anything.
Epson support recommended that I download the latest versions of the software and driver. I consistently receive the response "unable to open the page" whenever I request to download these drivers from the Epson website.

Thank you in advance for your help!!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello,

Strange. I just tried and downloaded epson27354eu.exe (12.69 MB) without any problem.

Give it another try, it might have just been a temporary issue on the Epson website.
If you're still having trouble, give me your email address, replacing the @ with some symbol to avoid giving spammer gifts, and I will send it to you.

That's for the drivers. If there's also a problem with the software, let me know what you need.

      Good evening jmp59.

Thank you for this quick response!
I must indeed have a problem loading the updates from the Epson site because I keep getting the same message "Cannot open this page"... I randomly tried lowering the security levels in IE, with no effect, regardless of which file I attempt to load.

I feel like my problem mainly comes from the Epson scan software which systematically acts as the interface between my office applications and the scanner, allowing me to adjust the scan settings at the same time. I think that despite the uninstallation using the standard Windows procedure (add/remove a program), corrupted files remain on the disk and are not refreshed during the reinstallation of the software. The catch is that I don't know where to check this???
If you have any ideas, I would be grateful.

Thank you again for your help.

I've been thinking about it, but I can't figure out what could prevent the download. I would understand better if it blocked during execution once the file is downloaded.

I can only reiterate my offer to send it by email.

    Hello
I have an Epson Perfection 3490 Photo scanner
which is 1 year old. Since I have Windows Vista, I can no longer use it. Windows tells me that it is either not connected or not turned on. It worked fine with XP, and I haven't found a driver for Vista.

    Thank you in advance.

    Good evening,

after having turned the problem around in every way and being unable to import the Epson file (thank you anyway for the proposed help!), I had resolved to put my scanner aside.
Since then, I had a problem with my hard drive which forced me to install a new one, with all the software needing to be reinstalled. The installation of the software associated with the scanner, including my old version of Epson scan, went smoothly and now my scanner is functioning normally again. Admittedly, it is a bit extreme as an approach to solving a problem...
I remain convinced that the issue I had was related to a corrupted file that was left unchanged during the repair or update procedure suggested by Epson on their website.

Unfortunately, I can't help Marco as I have reinstalled my version of Windows XP and currently know Vista only through the articles I read about it.
However, while checking the Epson website, I see that the Epson scan 3u driver is compatible with Vista and Vista x64. Try downloading it from this address and installing it again with Vista.

    Good luck!
