I have a Sony Xperia Z3, and one of my contacts hasn't been receiving the texts I've been sending since the end of last week. He sends me messages, I receive and read them without any problem, but the opposite situation is blocked.
I send messages to other contacts without any issues.

This has nothing to do with the fact that you could receive his texts. He may very well have accidentally blocked only the reception of YOUR texts. So ask your friend to check on his phone in the list of rejected texts to see if he has blocked you.
