Hello,
I am seeking valuable help regarding a startup issue with my DELL Latitude E6230.
I received an E6230 as a gift without a Dell power supply and SSD. Basically, I wasn't doing much apart from trying to turn it on. I took a HP power supply to see if it would start (same connector). It worked fine and it told me it's not the right battery. I ran a hardware scan and everything was good.
I ordered an official Dell power supply, an SSD, and connected everything... NOTHING, NADA...
The computer won't start anymore. I tried with and without the battery and NOTHING. I wanted to test it with the HP charger, same issue even though it worked before. I tried D + POWER and FN + POWER, nothing at all.
The laptop turns on fine with the power LED lit, but no fan spins and no beeps... nothing at all. After about 10 seconds, the LED turns off...
The issue is, I don't want to send it to DELL as they will charge me 300 bucks for a laptop that is worth 100...
If someone could help me, I would send them a nice bottle of wine from Bugey XD
THANK YOU
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 47.0

I had a similar issue with an Asus after plugging in an SSD.
Removing the BIOS battery/ram/battery and then pressing the power button for 20 seconds fixed the issue, it seems to have been an electrical surge.-

Re ;)
Well, it’s not working... I don’t understand the problem. It’s as if it’s trying to start but something is blocking it before the BIOS.
And I haven’t touched anything, though.
Could someone tell me where to find the motherboard layout to diagnose the issue, or at least suggest another avenue?
Thanks again
