Hello everyone,
I'm not really a pro and would like to ask you for some advice.
What are the risks of giving my email address to someone I met on a forum (for example, "animal health"), which is not part of relationship or dating forums?
I'm perplexed and hesitating to share my email.
Can they capture my information, access my computer through my email, possibly hack it?
What do you think? What advice can you give me?
Thank you very much in advance for your response.

Hello,

No, simply sharing an email address does not expose you to hacking - at least assuming that this address is protected by a "strong" password...

The only concern is being bombarded with spam if this sharing is "public" and/or having to deal with a "clingy" contact (even though in such cases spam filters do work...)

Not publishing an address helps protect privacy... you will also see that here we delete addresses that would be made public for everyone to see on the forum.

See you later
