What is this small gray character like a fat but immobile cursor that appears in a space, for example before a semicolon or after a " in OpenOffice 4
Can it be made to disappear?
Surely someone can answer me, thank you in advance.

Hello, You need to go to TOOLS/OPTIONS/OPENOFFICE WRITER/FORMATTING AID/ and in the DISPLAY section, uncheck NON-BREAKING SPACE  Best regards

Raymond, I saw how to put this symbol. I was able to insert it and I activated it. But my problem doesn't come from there. In fact, a small gray rectangle is displayed. Not this symbol.
