French quotes in Google Docs?

Hello,

I'm working on a shared Google Docs document, and I'm unable to type French quotation marks. I've tried changing my keyboard language, but I still can't find them.

I would like to find another solution rather than having to copy and paste every time.

Thank you very much!

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 50.0.2661.102

Hello,

according to this post (https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-3132862-guillemets-francais-dans-word), try for French quotes by holding the alt key, typing on the numeric keypad 0171 for « or 0187 for » then releasing alt.

Please keep us updated.

Best regards.

Hello,

here is the solution I found: take quotes from google by typing "French quotes". Copy into Google Docs.

And for more convenience; use the "substitution" feature and replace >> with » and << with « .

Best regards,
Baptiste

You need to go to "insert," then "special characters," and type in the English quotation mark, which is "quotation mark" (they suggested it to me after I typed "quo"). Then, you take the French quotation marks, copy them, go to "tools," then "preferences." They ask you to "replace [space] with [space]," and here you first put the American quotation marks (the ones that are automatically used), then in the second space, you paste the French quotation marks. Normally, after this manipulation, your quotation marks will automatically be replaced by French quotation marks.

If you still see the old quotation marks after performing the manipulation, don't panic! Just hit the spacebar, and the quotation marks will be French.

Have a nice day, everyone!
