Hello everyone and hello Andy, I hope you had a good holiday.

I just changed my TV: Samsung 48j5000.

How can I disable that irritating shutdown if I don't press OK?

Next, a question related to my place of residence in Spain.

During a game show, an American spectator on stage said: I watch F2 - F3 every day at home in California. I "tweaked" my address and I can see all the shows on my computer.

If that lady managed to do it, how can I do it here on the Costa Brava?

You need to disable the automatic standby, page 69 of this manual:

The American has to use a server that makes it seem his IP is French, but it's often a paid service, anyway, you're still on Fransat, right? So it's pointless and the picture quality is often terrible.
PS: for the TV, it's a shame because you could have chosen one with a satellite tuner and a Fransat-certified common interface, you could have done without the external decoder and had just one remote... too late...;-(

I just made the adjustment, I'll see how it goes if I did it right;

FOR THE TV, well, whether it's an error on my part or not, probably, but could my wallet handle the price difference between the two versions? What model from Samsung or LG should I have taken?

If I have to put another TV somewhere one day, I'll already have the decoder! Will it work to watch 2 different programs (the one I just changed with the Fransat decoder in one room, and one with the "thing" integrated in my living room?)

Hi,
For a second satellite reception, there are two solutions:
- Use a splitter for the second TV:

Cheap and easy, but there is a risk of conflicts between the decoders; this solution is reserved for watching in one room or the other.
- The best option is to change the LNB on the satellite dish to a "twin" LNB and run another coaxial cable down, like this:

So in all the rooms, there’s a new TV socket, the satellite dish and the LNB are new too. I even managed to keep the Astra dish for English reception.

Can you explain it to me more simply: if I set up the Fransat decoder and the TV in the upstairs bedroom, and if I buy a TV like you said with the built-in tuner, would that work or not? And if there's a built-in tuner, do I no longer need the Fransat decoder? And what’s this module and its card?

This module + card fits into a slot on the side of the TV (this is called a PCMCIA common interface) and in this case, you no longer need an external decoder, fewer wires and connections, and only one remote control. You have this on your Samsung TV but to decode encrypted terrestrial channels (Canal + in France for example or pay channels on TNT like Paris Première)
For the connection to the satellite dish, for optimal use, to be able to watch different programs on two TVs used simultaneously, it is better to change the LNB for a "Twin" and run another coaxial cable like here:

Otherwise, we can use a splitter to distribute the signal from the satellite dish to two different devices:

The problem is that satellite tuners send power to the LNB to supply it but also to switch the reception polarization, either vertical or horizontal by sending either 13 or 18 volts.
Suppose that in the living room, we are watching a channel that is in horizontal polarization (18 volts), in the bedroom, we will only be able to receive channels broadcast in horizontal because although the tuner sends 13 volts to watch a channel in vertical, the LNB is already receiving 18 volts from the living room so it cannot switch to vertical.
On the other hand, no problem if we use either the living room or the bedroom..

So the conclusion is that I’ve still put the cart before the horse.
As for the head of the parabola, I don’t have 1 or 2 outputs but 4. There are 4 wires coming out of the head (1 for each room that has a TV socket).

So in summary, if my family comes to visit me,
, if they turn on the TV in their room
, if they want to watch a program, they will only be able to follow what I am watching in the living room with my current FRANSAT equipment?
IS THAT RIGHT?
But if, still with my current equipment, they want to watch CANAL for example since they are subscribed, and if they bring their decoder, will it work without any other modifications?

As for adjusting my TV, no it hasn’t worked. It’s still cutting off. I did select off but in vain. What should I do?

I’m leaving for LE BOULOU to have a tooth extracted this morning, I won’t be back until this evening to read the response.

Perfect and well-thought-out installation, so in each room we can have total independence and watch what we want.  You misunderstood...  As for Canal+, if your friends have a terrestrial decoder, forget it; if they have a satellite decoder, it’s on the Astra 19.2° East satellite that they need to connect because Fransat only broadcasts free-to-air channels.  For the unexpected shutdown, reply to poupougne.  I suggest trying a "factory reset" as it may solve the problem...let’s see,  MENU→Assistance→Auto Diagnostics→ENTER→Reset. ouch ouch ouch, it hurts, I just got home, it’s hell. I’m on my third 1000 mg Dafalgan since 11:30 AM.

The guys at CCM are really great!! And that's not just flattery.

So I confirm what I understood: 4 parabola outputs for 4 rooms, so total autonomy, that's right, but will it all work with just my Fransat decoder in the living room? Or will I need to buy additional decoders (or TVs with tuners)?

And for CANAL +, it's the white and black cube, and since they have the satellite dish, will that work?

For the unexpected stop, I will keep an eye on how long it takes, and I will reply to Poupougne.

so after checks:
yesterday cut off after 4 hours of TV
this morning same in radio and TV mode.

So I went into the menu, and I clicked OK on eco mode, which brought up a section mentioning the cut off after 4 hours. I disabled it, I'll see if it did anything, but what should I do about what Andy told me to do in the system?
