A big hello to everyone!

I own a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. Before the operating system update, this phone took pictures of extraordinary quality. Since the upgrade to Android version 6.0.1, they are of poor quality. I have tried all the available settings, but the result is very disappointing. I would really like to go back to the previous version, Android 5.1.1. Can anyone help me? Thanks a LOT in advance! Method to downgrade the version of Android:

Advice: Read the entire procedure carefully before starting ;)

/!\ Loss of warranty /!\
/!\ Loss of data /!\

Follow the steps carefully.

1) You need to install the Samsung drivers so that your phone is recognized. The link is here: https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy-watch-develop/techdoc/without-phone-connection-mode.html?v=T000000117
Once installed, restart your PC.

2) You need to download the ROM (the phone's system in the desired version in French for your phone) here:

3) You need to download the Odin software that will allow us to inject the ROM into the phone. Here: https://dl2018.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip

The phone should not be connected via USB at this moment.
The phone must have at least 70% battery.

4) We have all the necessary files. Now, you need to restart the phone in recovery mode. To do this, with the phone off, hold down the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons. When the phone powers on, release only the power button until you reach recovery mode where you can then release all buttons.

Navigate in recovery mode using the volume up and down buttons to move up and down. The power button is used to select.

5) Perform a "wipe cache" and a "wipe data factory reset". (In any order you prefer).

6) Then, turn off the phone by selecting "shut down" or by holding the power button until it turns off (or by removing the battery).

7) On the PC, launch the ODIN software.
Click on the AP box and select the ROM.
(If you cannot select it, you need to decompress the zip file obtained in step 2 to get a .tar.md5 file)

8) In the OPTION tab, check that only the "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" boxes are checked. The "Re-Partition" box MUST NOT be checked.

9) Start the phone in download mode (Volume Down + Home + Power) and then when the screen appears, it will ask you to continue by pressing the volume up button.

At this point, you can connect the phone to the PC.

10) Once the phone is connected, the ID:COM box in the ODIN software should light up blue. If it doesn't, wait 2-3 minutes. If it still doesn't, it could be your USB cable, try another one. Or, the step 1 may not have been done correctly.

11) If step 10 is successful (the blue box is lit), all you have to do is click Start and wait until the process finishes without disconnecting or turning off the phone. The process takes about 5-10 minutes.

12) The phone restarts in version 5.1.1 !!

The first startup may take a long time (5-10 minutes) but beyond that, if the Samsung logo gets stuck, perform steps 4 and 5 then restart the phone.

If you have any questions, please post them below this message. I can assist you with the procedure via Skype ;)

Hi,

Downgrading your phone does not void the warranty; in Europe and especially in France, the manufacturer's warranty applies to the hardware and not the software, so as long as the phone is not opened or the seals are not broken, it is still under warranty.

Tested and certified with my rooted S4 on a custom ROM and with Knox at 0x1.

It would also be good to name the site and the tutorial from which you copied your response, but the answer is correct.

Hello, ok for the warranty info!

The tutorial is typed by hand, based on my experience and tests ;) so no viable sources ;)
