I have never written a letter on a computer, how do I carry out this task?

Thank you for your response.

You need to open your word processing software (Word, Writer, Page, Works, etc.) and type on the keyboard to form words and sentences.
Will you be able to do that?

Thank you, Raymond. I know how to type (trained as a stenographer-typist); I was a secretary in administration at the D.D.A.S.S., but I never used a computer, as I didn’t see the point since it was more about welcoming and listening. I see you are retired in the Caribbean, well, I am also retired in my native North. My daughter lived in Fort de France for a while, but she never liked it there.

So what's your real question?
If you reread your initial request, you'll understand that my first answer couldn't have been any different!
And since you have typing training, nothing stops you from doing your letter on the computer instead of the typewriter...
If there's a point that blocks you, you need to specify it to us.

... to reread yourself!

Hello,

you will need to use your text software (Word...etc) and then type your letter as if on a typewriter.

The advantage and the complication will lie in the choices (colors, sizes, and types of fonts...).
You will find these options in the dropdown menus located at the top of your screen.
Good luck...
