Double-clicking and Excel file doesn't open

Solved

Hello, here is my problem. Since the installation of Office 365, whenever I click on an Excel file on my desktop, the 'Save As' window opens.
When Excel is open and I go to File, Open, the file opens perfectly.
Note that this does not happen with PDF or JPG files.
Do you have any idea????
Thank you

I had the same problem with all my files opening with Office 365.

I simply did a "repair" through:
Settings / System / Apps and features / Microsoft Office 365 - fr-fr
Modify --> Yes
Quick repair --> Repair

I didn't need to do the "Online Repair", but just in case...

Where can I find Settings, please? Because there are quite a few places with "Settings" on a computer.

Hello,

Just in case...

Click on "File/Options/Advanced Options"

And nearly at the bottom, under "General," check that the box "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange" is unchecked.

Good luck!

Hello,

check in the Control Panel/Folder Options/General tab if the box for Open items with a double-click is checked

Hello Mike-31, I checked and it's all ticked. It's just the Excel files that do that...

In settings, search for apps and features, then repair your Office. I had the same issue and it was resolved this way.
