Hello,
I would like to know if there is an application/technique to output audio through a USB port from a smartphone/tablet.
Let me explain, I have a headset with a USB connection and I tried to connect it to my tablet with an OTG cable. I can increase or decrease the volume of the tablet via the headset, mute the microphone, but the audio always comes out from the tablet.
Is there a manipulation/application for doing this kind of thing?
I hope I have been clear.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Good evening,

It became possible starting from Android 4.0, however, the kernel needs to be modified to enable support for USB DAC.

It seems to me that with Android 5.0 (Lollipop), this support is native... But most tablets are still running Kitkat (Android 4.4)...

First of all, thank you for your response. Indeed, my tablet is running version 4.4.2, but I tried it on my smartphone, which is under Lollipop, and after plugging in the headset, it doesn't want to cooperate much anymore. However, I don’t have the notification to say that a headset is plugged in, so I assume it’s not working.
Do you have a good tutorial to activate USB DAC support?
