Question

Hello everyone,
I have been subscribed to Breizh Mobile for more than fifteen days. For about ten days now, every morning, I receive a text message from 20608, giving me the TV schedule for the day. I have replied three times that I don't want this information anymore, but it continues. I don't know if it costs anything. I contacted Breizh Mobile, and they replied that it didn't come from them. I did the same with Orange, but... same response. I also think that every time I reply to the text messages, I am being charged. Can someone tell me how to remedy this or whom to contact? I had almost the same problem, but for me it was "naughty" SMS from people wanting to meet me or I had to call a certain number starting with 08.99..... and I didn't have the option to say I didn't want it anymore!!!
Eventually, I called the number and selected to listen to the publisher's information and got their SIREN number, and through the commercial registry, I found that the publisher was in Toulouse, so I wrote a registered letter to them politely and kindly asking them to stop bothering me........ they replied right away with a registered letter telling me that they were removing me from their files but said it was me who had "surely" agreed to it during a music download or a logo????

same problem I get celebrity info every day and it really becomes heavy from number 20608.  it's promising if SMS become like emails where we are bombarded with ads.

Hey!

I've got the same problem as you, I've had my number for a week and I receive 3 texts a day....

When I got my phone, the voicemail of the previous person was still there, and one day she called. So I asked her what she had done and she replied that she signed up on a website to receive texts (she couldn't tell me which one!!!)

So now I have to contact Orange to have my number unsubscribed from the texts....

Good luck to you, but you know how it goes with Orange, you never know..

I already contacted Orange. I was told it wasn't their concern. It's not a big deal, I'll let it go, it's just the TV program I receive every morning. It's not life-threatening and I've gotten used to it. As long as it's free...

Hello,  Identical problem. Called Orange customer service, and they indeed recommend sending STOP to the sender number (20608), but to date, after 3 STOP replies, the same problem persists.

You just need to send a text message to the sender with the word stop the sender will necessarily reply if they don't, file a complaint

Oh seriously, thank you, I had the same problem with the number starting with 08.99...(for your information, my friends played a nice little joke on me by calling a dating site...great idea!) It was really simple, you just had to send "STOP", but at the moment you don't think about it...

Hello, like you, I receive 2 or 3 SMS with various offers from a 6-digit number telling me to call an "0899..." Of course, I don't respond, but I've been getting these kinds of messages since I visited the "HOT Chat" service on the Orange portal, a service from which it's impossible to unsubscribe, by the way! Like certain others on Gallery, which, if you look closely, are just one and the same service under different names... I've also seen the "123 multimedia" service mentioned, in other words "tchatche.com." Check to see if you signed up, as you might have left your number to win "certain gifts." Hello everyone,

For about two weeks, I had been receiving naughty and even vulgar messages from 84546, as well as an invitation to contact the famous phone number 0899230902, which was deeply annoying me.
I managed to get rid of this problem by replying to one of those messages with the word "STOP". I immediately received a text saying "your request has been recorded, you will no longer receive messages."
Phew!!!
The solution was simple, but it was not indicated anywhere, especially since I still don't know how I ended up on such a mailing list.
So, to get rid of this plague, you have the remedy.

I had the same problem with the Star GOSSIP, but it never stopped with STOP.
I had to do the manip on Orange and indeed I was subscribed without my knowledge! 30 cents/month!

I find the scam incredible!

Option unchecked, I'm thinking about writing a letter to a consumer magazine!

An update on the Orange scam solution 20608.

After trying "stop" and 33700, nothing worked, the texts kept coming. Orange customer service claims not to know 20608, even though it's a service option via SMS! There's no way to access the service online, call 733 and in the SMS services, delete the options.

I was subscribed to receive horoscopes without having requested anything, it's abnormal and I will not pay for this fraudulent service (€2/month or €0.10 per SMS). I have canceled the direct debit and chosen payment by TIP or check, so Orange can no longer charge me anything.

Let's resist these scam practices.

Hello, I had the same issue with Orange. You need to go to your operator's website and look for the subscription to the TV program, and that's probably where you will find a way to unsubscribe. They're all thieves and liars; they sign you up automatically as soon as you open a line, and it's not cheap, their nonsense.

Good evening,In general, simply replying "STOP" (without uppercase letters) automatically unsubscribes you, and you also receive a confirmation. The cost of this SMS is not premium. I am with Bouygues and I receive a text message from the sender triangle followed by @. And I don’t know what to do!! I’ve tried stopping it, but nothing works, I even receive at least 30 a day!!
I've just received another one and the time is always the same 12:42.

I’m bringing this topic back up (if my question isn’t in the right place, it will likely be deleted). But something strange has been happening to me for the past two weeks. I’ve been receiving texts informing me of promotions or indicating a commercial operation (new summer collection 2012 *brand* opening from such hour to such hour on such day). These texts come from a mobile number 0692 (I’m from department 974). I received 2 but from different numbers, which means that even if I tell these two unsolicited senders to stop sending me their ads, there's no guarantee my number isn’t circulating among other groups. I don’t see myself spending €0.12 every time to say "stop" whenever I get this kind of text.
Should I contact my operator to ask if they are aware of anything?
Legally, do these people have the right to send me this kind of text without asking for my permission? Can I take legal action against them?

I think it’s time to implement stricter laws regarding these commercial methods, especially those that involve using your contact information without your consent (without your agreement) to send you endless advertising messages.
