Hello,

For several days now, my PC has been displaying this message when it starts:
Disk error
press any key to restart

I press enter and the PC starts up normally, but this message doesn't reassure me, so I did some research online, but in every case, people couldn't start their PC at all, whereas I can.

I would like to know if anyone knows what this message means and how to resolve the issue?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

      Hello,

It's a shame the article is in English; it's strange though, I've never touched the launch system settings. But since this problem arose, my USB drive is always connected to my computer. Could it be that it's the cause of the problem?

Yes, because this peripheral blocks the startup, this often happened on XP.

Unplug your USB drive from the PC.
You'll see if it's the one causing the problem during startup.

You can also go into the BIOS to make sure it's the hard drive that is set to boot first.
