Hello,
A old laptop brand Medion 2003,
which was working very well under XP. It no longer wants to cooperate.
Connected to another monitor (since the original screen is seriously lacking intensity, but works), at every startup, the hard drive spins up fine, the keyboard responds well, but it immediately cuts off the power.
With F2 at startup or F12, the same result.
However, with the Escape key, I get a black screen with the following information:
Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0
Copyright 2003 Phoenix Technologies Ltd
V1.0 R01-A1I
CPU = Mobile Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz
255M System RAM Passed
512K Cache SRAM Passed
System BIOS shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
Fixed Disk 0: IC
N060ATMR04-0
ATAPI CD-ROM: HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N
Mouse initialized

Press <F2> to enter SETUP, Press <F12> to display Boot Menu
But pressing either one causes the PC to shut down
THANK YOU for any HELP
Configuration: Windows Vista / Chrome 48.0.2564.97

Day

The term "shadowed" simply means that the BIOS display on the screen is "ghosted" and cannot be seen on the screen.

This can be disabled by accessing the BIOS if possible; otherwise, remove the battery from the PC, wait a minute, and put it back to restore the original BIOS...

Then check that the Disk is properly placed first in the boot sequence of the PC in the same BIOS.

Hello

The term "shadowed" simply means that the BIOS process on screen runs in "shadow" without being visible on the screen.
I’d like to make a correction:
it means that the machine copies portions of the BIOS into RAM to speed up loading.
This is the normal operation, and it cannot be disabled...

Indeed, it writes to the RAM, but sorry, this "shadowed" action can be disabled in a BIOS...
