Hello everyone
I just installed Word 2016 on my computer. While typing my first document, I notice that Word automatically adds a large space after each apostrophe, and it is impossible to correct the typing (when I delete it, it automatically comes back, and the correction option doesn't even fix the problem).
Have you ever encountered this issue? If so, please explain to me how to fix it: it's really very annoying!
Thank you in advance.

under Word 2003
I had the same problem (space after the apostrophe)
I solved it
tools>options>compatibility tab
all options were unchecked and I checked
"no extra space for subscripts or superscripts"

Hello, I also faced this issue in Word 2007, I followed roughly the same steps: Word options, advanced options, layout options and then a list appears, I checked "no extra space for superscripts or subscripts."
Hello,
Obviously, this is not normal! And what is even more abnormal is not being able to erase this space. So, I conclude that it is not a space, but a problem with the font.
Could you please provide a document with this issue? You can put it here and give us the link:

We are not clairvoyants: don't forget to indicate the version of the software used, and how you proceeded.

Hello m@rina,
Thank you for your reply, which I’m only seeing now.
I think I’ve understood the source of the problem: it was a document that I started writing in LibreOffice and then transferred to Word. I believe it's simply a formatting incompatibility.
I no longer have issues with my new documents, so the problem is resolved!
Thanks again for your reply.
