Create .SVG file with transparent background

Hello,

My question may seem silly, but I just can't get my final result...

I'm creating files in Illustrator to deliver them as .SVG for integration into an app.
So these files need to be without a background (or obviously transparent).

HOWEVER, when I generate them as .SVG, they appear with a background... I'm a bit stuck, I must admit, and I need to deliver these files before the end of the week...

Thank you in advance for your help!

The transparency function in Illustrator is intended to be applied to a solid surface.

If there is no fill in a surface, by definition it is transparent.

Thank you, Contrariness, for the response...

What should I conclude from this? That creating my files in .svg will automatically generate a transparent background when I integrate them into a mobile application?

      Thank you anyway.

In vector graphics, any surface is transparent if it has no fill...
Whereas for an image, you need to declare a layer as being transparent or create a clipping mask.
