Hello,
I was given an MP3 player (Energy running model). It refuses to charge reliably: the charging symbol appears, then very quickly after it shows full battery. When unplugged, it almost immediately shows low power and turns off.
Could this be due to how I recharge? As I was used to with my previous player, I used the wall charger from my Samsung phone rather than plugging the player into a USB 2.0 port (I don’t like having to turn on a PC for that).
The Samsung charger outputs: 5.3V, 2.0A. Could I have damaged the battery on the first charge? I thought the player would regulate and draw only the current it needs.
For reference, I’ve never had a problem with my Sony MP3 player that I charge in this way for at least 2 years.
Thanks for your help.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Mozilla 11.0

Yes, I think you damaged the battery unfortunately. .. Each volt and amperage is specific to each device; it is never the same on every device!
I hope this will be useful to you! -
If you can try it or change it yourself...

Yes, I will attempt the warranty with the delicate task of having to tell the person who gave it to me. That’s why I was trying to determine my potential responsibility.
By the way, do others have any other feedback? I’m surprised I could “burn out” a new battery in barely 2 hours of charging (and this without an alarm or perceptible overheating of the device). -
Any other opinions on the cause of the problem?
