Hello, I have a problem with a mp3 mp4 mp man cs157 player. The battery is dead, and I can't recharge it, or maybe it's faulty. How can I tell? When I connect the USB cable to my computer, the small battery icon at the top of the screen doesn't move, whether it's on or off. Who could help me? Thank you, José.
Configuration: Windows XP AOL 8.0

I've found it...

turn off your device and plug it in. The screen will light up and tell you that it is charging... that's false, if you wait a little, the brightness of your player will go from high to low and then from low to high, and the battery bar will start moving from not charging to charging. Now, while keeping your device plugged in, turn it on and wait a bit (15s), and there, magic happens, it starts charging (the screen brightness doesn't change anymore, it stays low). If it still doesn't work, press and hold play (10s) and normally it should work. If you are using a charger with a diode color that is different when charging and not charging, then while charging it will be red and green; otherwise, it helps to check.

Hi everyone, my mp3 won't work anymore because it says low power, so I put it on charge and no matter how long I leave it charging, it still says low power. Help me because I love music. Have a good evening everyone.

It depends on where you bought it. I have the same problem, well almost. It charges, but when I unplug it, at least 6 hours later, it’s completely discharged! By the way, if anyone can help with the DSU, thanks! Now back to your problem:
1) You must have connected your USB to your MP4.
2) Then you have to connect the other end of the USB to a USB port on your computer, but normally, you have to leave the computer on.
3) Let it charge like that for at least 4 hours (the computer on, of course).
4) Then turn it on with the power button.
5) Next, go into settings and scroll right until you reach language.
6) Then, still using the right button, move your cursor to French and press the M button.
7) To listen to your music, go to the menu and select music by clicking on music.
8) To listen to the radio, click on FM.
9) For voice memos or voice recording if you prefer, go to voice.
10) For photos, go to JPG view.
11) For settings, go to system.
12) For video, go to movie.
13) To record your voice memos, go to recording.

I have this problem too, but the worst part is that I know why...
There is a loose connection in the USB port of the reader and it pretends to charge but nothing happens.
Do not charge it with a computer USB port, use a wall charger with an LED. Plug everything in. If the LED stays green, then the charge is "fake" even if the reader seems to be charging. The LED needs to turn red for it to charge. A simple trick is to check if the screen brightness changes while charging. If it does (10 seconds of maximum brightness followed by 10 seconds of lower brightness and repeat), it means it is not charging. Finally, the charge is only finished when the charge indicator stops scrolling and shows a full charge...

Good luck. I manage to recharge it after 10 minutes of struggling to get that damn LED on the charger to turn red...

This problem is because the MP4 is defective, so it cannot be recharged. You should go to your shop and ask for a refund. Sorry for my English. Good luck, bye.

Sorry, I'm no further along than you. I've already tried a bunch of different techniques (turning it on, then off, the other way around) but I still haven't found anything.

If someone finds a solution, or if someone knows a link that explains how to charge it, it would be nice to let us know.

I've had my MP3 and my wall charger since July, and it frustrates me to always have to turn on my PC to charge it. So please!! Has no one found anything?!!??!

Well, I don’t understand anything; at my dad's, it works. At home, it doesn't work. Plus, when I connect it to the computer, I can't see the songs I have on it. But when I was at my dad's, I could see the songs, and it was charging just by being plugged in (no on/off, etc.). Then, I was told it was because I hadn't installed the CD-ROM. And where I bought it they say they don't know. Anyway, it's a mess, 70 euros down the drain. Moreover, on the MP MAN site, there's nothing, no manual, no driver. It’s so frustrating.

Hello,

Alalalalala guys, I'm coming to you to share my discovery :p

It’s been at least 2 weeks that I can’t charge my mpman cs 157 whether it’s on or off, I was planning to return it tomorrow but since the warranty doesn’t cover battery problems, I wanted to check one last time and yes, it didn’t work

especially since everything was fine except for the charging, so I turned to the USB plug

but then a light bulb went off, I had the same plug to charge my Sony camera, so I plugged it in and boom, it charges :p (yay yay)

so the problem comes from the fact that the tip for plugging into the mp3 is not long enough so it wobbles a bit and charges poorly or not at all.

So try changing the charging plug and in my case, it works perfectly.

Hello, I have a problem with this MP4. I only got it two days ago and I've been able to listen to it only once. Let me explain: after listening to it, I turned it off, and later in the day I wanted to turn it back on but it wouldn't turn on. When I got home, I plugged it into my battery and it turned on. In conclusion, my MP4 won't turn on without being plugged into my PC or my battery even though it is fully charged. Thank you for getting back to me quickly.

I have exactly the same problem with my mp3. I have a charger. I left it all night and nothing. Oo

The problem mainly comes from a poor connection of the USB cable in the reader.
It needs to be pushed sufficiently into the reader to see the level in the charge indicator fluctuate.
As for the ON/OFF switch, it works in both positions, but it's better to switch it to OFF,
otherwise when it finishes charging, if it's on ON, it starts discharging...

Hello,

I found a solution for the wall charger: it doesn't charge the MP3, but you can listen to music, the radio, etc. even if the battery is dead. Because mine turns off every time I try to charge it via a power outlet, so I have to use the PC.

Anyway, here’s the procedure to follow:
1) Plug the cable into the charger (but not into the MP3, be careful)
2) plug everything, cable + charger, into an outlet
3) turn on the MP3 and immediately (that is, while it's showing the hourglass) plug in the cable
4) just listen and enjoy ^^

However, I still haven't found a solution to actually charge my MP3 with my wall charger, does anyone know how to do it? Because my problem is that as soon as I plug it in, it turns off showing a dead battery.

For AMOULA, have you thought about converting your videos with the software provided on the installation CD?

No way to charge my mp4 cs 157 with the wall charger, I've tried 3 different ones and in every way: negative, it's not the cord because it works when charging with the PC: does mp man sell its own chargers?

I also had a charging problem... the battery indicator was moving but it wasn't charging, simply because I was on OFF; to charge it, I have to be on ON.

Good evening to you

I also have a mpmancs157fm and it took me a while to figure out the subtleties
logically you must have bought it with a wall charger
you plug in your wall charger alone
then you put your USB tip into the charger
next you connect your mp3 to the small tip in your mp3
the mp3 must be turned off
once it's connected the screen lights up but no way!! your mp3 is lying to you!!!!
it doesn't charge when the brightness of your screen gets lower so you turn your mp3
on and there normally the LED of your charger turns red, that's when it's charging

kisses

What do you think of the TEMIUM USBCHG FR power adapter that Darty recommends for my MP man CS 157 player?
And otherwise, where can I find a 6v power adapter with a LED?
