Hello, I recently purchased a JBL Xtreme speaker (yesterday) and I’ve already noticed an issue with it. I tried to charge the battery before using it, but the LED lights indicating the battery level are stuck: 3 are on and the fourth is continuously flashing. The speaker has been charging all night. Normally, when the battery is fully charged, all 5 LEDs should light up, right? I’m not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or not; I didn’t take the warranty. Is it possible to exchange it in that case? (I bought it at FNAC) Thank you in advance and have a great day.

Hello everyone, One solution worked for me: First, reset the device (hold the volume + and play/pause buttons for 5 seconds) --> Then charge the battery for 6 hours. One solution worked for me:

If solution 1 doesn't work, download the JBL Connect app (Android/iOS) and update the drivers via Bluetooth.

Same problem as you, I charged it for hours yesterday and those lights still won’t turn on... Plus, I used it yesterday and it only lasted 45 minutes on medium power... I hope it’s an issue that can be easily resolved.

Oh yes, 45 minutes is critical... I haven't found a solution for now, I'm sticking with a duration of 4 LEDs but for you it must be much more troublesome :/ Did you get a warranty?

Yes, having purchased it online, I exchanged it directly at the store where I bought it.
Now the new one I have has a base charge of three diodes, and I'm emptying it before doing a full charge (just to avoid disturbing the battery) to see if the problem persists.
But I must say that with three diodes, the battery already lasts well for 3 hours of moderate use (for listening alone in a room at ambient volume) and the charge has only dropped by one diode ^^
So I won't know if the problem repeats itself until the battery is drained.

So, that's it, the battery is dead. I charged it fully, and now there are no issues; all the LEDs came on after about 3-4 hours.
I think you should try to drain the battery and attempt a full charge to see if the problem occurs again.

Hi, I bought the same today and the charge went up to the 5th LED which was flashing, then it dropped back to the 4th flashing. And now it's not moving anymore...
Weird. I'll see if there's no change, I'll bring it back on Monday.

Hi, I have the same LED issue... The 5th one lights up while charging, dropping down to the 4th, and even leaving it to charge all night; they don’t turn off like my Flip3... any other solutions or similar problems???

Hello, I've noticed the same thing; the first 4 LEDs light up very quickly (in less than 30 minutes), while the fifth one keeps blinking for at least two more hours. I think these LEDs might be a bad battery indicator, even though it's known that the last quarter of a battery takes the longest to charge in physical terms, so the LEDs must be glitching. It's exactly the same pattern with your phone's battery; the last few percent always take the longest, while the intermediate ones charge very quickly.
Try letting it charge for at least 4 hours and see if the problem persists.

Hello, I'm having the same issue, the speaker shuts off very quickly and I can't turn it back on unless I plug it back in... not very convenient for a portable device..

I've tried rebooting and updating, but nothing works, and of course the warranty is no longer valid..

Has anyone found a solution to the problem??

I have the same problem, I'm going to try to see with the warranty but it scares me.
It works for an hour and then turns off and I can't turn it back on, and when I plug it in to charge, I have 3 bars left :/

Hello everyone,

Like Stewo, I have a similar issue..
When I charge my Xtreme speaker, the first 3 LEDs light up and the 4th one blinks after several minutes.
However, even after 4-5 hours of charging, the 4th LED is still blinking.
When I unplug the speaker and turn it on, all 5 LEDs light up, but how can I tell if the speaker is fully charged??
Do all 5 LEDs need to light up during charging, or is the speaker properly charged normally??
I have several questions...
I will test the speaker to see how quickly the 5 LEDs turn off one by one, and I will check if it lasts about 15 hours of battery life.
If you have one or more answers to my questions, I would be very grateful, and I thank you in advance ;)

Hello, I’m getting back to you. I changed the speaker because the charging was weird. After using it, only one diode remains lit. I decide to recharge it, and after 10 minutes, all 5 diodes light up. I don't think such a quick charge is possible. But the new one does almost the same, so maybe it's normal? How can I tell if my charge is complete? The first 4 diodes are lit, and the 5th one is flashing.

I looked into some English-speaking websites and apparently a lot of people have had the same issue :(
The only things I could find are: make sure to plug the charger into a socket > 110V, or disconnect and reconnect the cable (but as you can guess, that didn't work for me...)
