Keep tablet on 24/7 plugged in

Hello,

Is there a risk in leaving a Windows tablet running 24/7 plugged into the wall with an application that uses little resources and RAM continuously?

Is there a sleep mode on Windows 10 tablets that allows the tablet to wake up with a touch while keeping the network connection active during sleep? (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)

Thank you for your answers.

    Hello
Normally, there shouldn't be a problem if you leave the tablet on, unless your tablet is very old or your charger is faulty.
However, it can be dangerous if you leave it plugged in for like 2 weeks.

Hello, I'm aiming for a current generation tablet, an ASUS T100H. What are the risks of leaving the tablet plugged into the wall for a long time? Are you talking about the power transformer or the fact of leaving it plugged in? Because it only outputs 5V at a maximum of 2A...

That's where I'm wondering, we can leave a laptop plugged in for a year if we want; does the tablet behave like standard computer equipment when plugged into the mains?

    Hello,

In simple terms, you want to know if you can download with a tablet 24/7?

Hi, not at all, it's for professional use; I run client software that communicates with a network database, and I need it to be available 24/7. I'm currently using a nano-PC running Win7; a tablet would be more compact and probably more responsive.

    Hello,
The usual risk is that the adapter can catch fire. However, it's always low voltage, so if it were to catch fire, it would be because it was too worn out or had overheated.
As for the computer, the chargers are bulkier, so they are more durable.

      Hello,

Okay, that's all I wanted to know, just a potential issue with the manufacturing quality of the transformer then.

      Thank you for your replies.
