I found that the change in the appearance of the icon actually comes from activating the "Do Not Disturb" service in the notification panel.

The icon looks like a quarter moon and not a circle with a minus sign

Hello, I had the same problem, I just solved it. The circle with a minus sign makes it look like a no-entry sign. I right-clicked on the icon and it said "Do Not Disturb" to disable it; you just need to click on it. There you go, I've had this no-entry sign for a little while. See you soon.
