Hello,

I have a .iso file that is about 7 GB and I'm trying to copy it to my external hard drive.

The problem is that I receive an error message saying that the file is too large.

Is this normal?
Is there a way to fix this?
Would compressing the file into an archive be a solution?
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.6

For your information, it’s likely that your external hard drive is formatted in FAT32. This format does indeed limit the file size to 4 GB, which is why you encounter an error whenever this threshold is exceeded, regardless of the software or operating system used.

The only solutions are: change the format (NTFS, exFAT, etc.), or reduce the file size.

Can you tell me about a program that allows you to modify the FAT32 format? Thanks

      Hey

      Windows, quite simply ;)

Right-click on your drive, format it

and you choose FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc.

Great. I was struggling with a new 32 GB flash drive... Reformatting to NTFS and everything is fine... The sellers (especially in stores where you ask for advice) could warn you!!!
      Thanks
