I'm 12 and a half, can I play GTA V?

Hello, I'm 12 years old and my mom tells me that I can't play GTA V. So I'm asking other parents or kids to prove yes or no if GTA V is okay to play at 12 and a half years old.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 46.0.2490.52

Personally, I find the age system stupid because we shouldn't talk in terms of age but in terms of sensitivity. Of course, someone who's 12 might not be bothered by war games, while someone who's 30 could faint; it's extreme, but that's how I see it. I play GTAV and frankly, I don't see anything shocking about it; it's a car game in the skin of a trafficker. You have to be able to differentiate between real life and games... Besides, this game is very well made, and it's a lot less worse than what you can see on TV during wars, etc.

As parents, we can't think that way.

There you go... Not before 15 years old, that kind of stuff would be very good... And even then, depending on the grades and the intelligence of the kid...

Whoo, you are extremely scaring me with your reasoning. First of all, games cannot make you dumb like TV can, and have you even played GTA before criticizing it in such an extreme way? Following a flock of sheep without knowing why is just being stupid... If you listened to yourself, you'd think we shouldn't watch the news on TV, which shows the violence of the world, while GTA is a particular style that sparks debate. But are you stupid enough to confuse reality and games?
For your information, I've been playing games of this style since I was 7 years old with my friends, and I'm doing just fine mentally. I have an IQ of 149, so what you're saying is completely ridiculous. A game is just 3D animations. After all, GTA isn't the land of teddy bears; it's true we can "steal cars," we can "kill people," but it's not real.

GTA I've finished it more than once and it's not at all for a kid, period... And it's not a question of IQ, you know...

I don't show my children the information... No reality TV either, for example...
A porn movie isn't real either, so look my child...

    Hello.
    Your mom is right.
The game is quite violent and amoral.
    Completely opposed to reality.

No game has a moral; their only objective is to sell as many as possible and to entertain people.

No game has a moral... Well, play Kingdom Hearts for example, you'll see... And by the way... You probably haven't played many games in your life... Stop playing violent games, there are other styles out there ;-)

Who told you that I only play that? And who said that I only do that, I have a life too.

Well, it must be true since for you no game has any morals... You probably didn't look far in the game library...

    Hello,

GTA is rated for 18+. Because in this game, there is violence, theft, insults, blood, sex, and more.

Here’s what the PEGI info website says:

    "PEGI 18
The adult classification applies when the degree of violence reaches a level where it becomes a representation of graphic violence and/or includes elements of specific types of violence. Graphic violence is the most difficult to define because, in many cases, it can be very subjective, but generally, it can encompass representations of violence that provoke a sense of disgust in the viewer.

The descriptors that appear on the back of the packaging indicate the main reasons for which a game has been assigned a particular age rating. There are eight descriptors: violence, coarse language, fear, drugs, sex, discrimination, gambling, and online games with other people."

    More info here: http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/75/

So no, GTA is not recommended.

    Have a nice evening.

    Hello

And the restriction for those under 18, do you think it's just for looks? Play with Legos or Playmobil, at least that's your age...
