Good evening. My first purchase went well for me. The second one is a disaster. The product received worked for 3 weeks. Well, why not. The return of the product: No problem. The product has now been at the repair service since August 3rd and I haven't heard any news since. Not from Backmarket except for "I'm contacting the repairer." On the tracking website, the status is the same. It's going to be a month that I haven't had any information or solution proposals. They know how to sell, but for everything else, there's no one left. Oh, Greg is amusing in his emails, but he's mostly useless when it comes to customer service. It's clear that I won't recommend anything from them again. In the meantime, I'm getting by as best I can and I still don't have my phone. Really, really not serious. defamatory term removed by Moderation

Hello, yes, a disaster, I do not recommend, 2 iPhones 6 in 2 months, the first one received did not work, and the second one, after being with Apple, had a motherboard problem, the phone worked for 2 days!!
When I see the positive reviews, I find it hard to believe!!-

Hi,
I also had a very bad experience with BACK MARKET that I advise you to avoid.
I bought an iPhone 6s for my daughter for Christmas in shiny condition, so top-notch.
We received it and in March 2018 (3 months later) there was a problem with the screen that responds less or not at all to touch. We sent the device back, and it came back quickly and seemed to be working again.
Three months later, the screen goes black with thin colored lines. It became impossible to turn it on at first, then it turns back on after a while, but then does it again and again. I inform BACK MARKET, but we are just 10 days past the warranty! So I go see ALLO PSN on their advice.
The technician disassembles the screen and notices that there is a missing screw under the home button and that a wire is disconnected. He tells us that it doesn’t really relate to the malfunction, reconnects the wire, and kindly puts in a screw in the missing spot. He gives us an estimate for changing the screen and asks if the screen was changed during the operation in March or even if the phone was replaced, which would give us warranty coverage. The repair is not done yet, though.
The iPhone, of course, still has the same issues.
I write to BACKMARKET to find out what was done on my phone and to CAMILINE, the refurbisher (not great considering what the ALLO PSN technician observed). BACKMARKET never answered this question, but CAMILINE assures me that they changed the screen. Great, we can invoke the warranty, and the technician can change the screen. That’s where the nightmare begins...
Backmarket messed me around for 3 weeks, treating me like a child by pretending not to understand what I wanted, replying off-topic but always with a young, relaxed, and cool attitude, and always with a different contact person.
I got more clearly angry, and they asked me for a note from ALLO PSN to know their diagnosis. And well, BACKMARKET's response is: since the iPHONE was opened (proof being the wire is disconnected!!!), the warranty does not apply.
Extraordinary, isn’t it? The string is huge, yes!
So I find myself with an iPhone 6s that is 6 months old and no longer works, with a defective screen that was changed 3 months ago by a subcontractor of BACKMARKET, incompetent CAMILINE, and instead of acknowledging the mistake, they turn it back on me!
Of course, I will not stop there.-

The problem you describe is almost exactly the one I had (multicolored stripes, then a black screen). Sent back to Mobile Genius, the refurbisher who operated on it. At first, they sent me an email saying everything was fine, then 5 days later, they refused the refund. Reason: oxidation due to exposure to water. Basically: either you don't open it and they will point to an internal issue, or you open it, see that they worked like pigs, and void the warranty. Very disappointed, I wanted to embrace the concept of this French start-up, but beneath the "cool and nice" facade, it’s the most cynical form of greenwashing.

My turn. I see that many of us have had issues with Backmarket and their refurbishers: Chrono-vente in my case.
Summary: purchased an iPhone 7 Plus "shinny," so second-hand but like new (implying the quality grade)
Received it and the first observation is a small dent on the chassis. Well, up to that point, I thought, too bad, they must have made a mistake with the grade (the "gold" grade was listed at €659 at the time and the "shinny" surprisingly cheaper at €599 + €25 shipping). Plus, the small dent didn't bother me that much.
The next day I take it to work, alone in my pocket because I haven't had the time to buy a case or get a tempered glass applied, and when I get home in the evening, I admire my toy at €625 until I see a huge scratch on the screen... yet it has never dropped and there's nothing in my pockets. I contact the site and Chrono-vente about the dent on the chassis and the screen, and they assure me that they do not sell damaged products in the shinny grade and that it's due to improper use on my part. The screen repair cost is €80 out of my pocket but not right away because the Chrono-vente repairer is on vacation (cleverly done to go past the 14-day return period)
The next day, I'm told that I sound bad on the phone. Muffled sound, even choppy. I don't understand (?) it’s supposed to be like new second-hand?
The thought crosses my mind that the phone is anything but original; I think about the cost of the screen repair (€80 versus €200 at Apple), so the quality can't be the same. I contact the site again and request a refund for the device since I suspect the use of questionable parts. Response: no, only screen repair (14-day period expired by then).
This Saturday, I get a tempered glass applied because I can't accept my phone being repaired with cheap parts; too bad for the scratch. When I get home, I find that after applying the protective film, the 3D Touch barely works (a sign of a low-quality replacement screen)
I get really frustrated and decide to make a call test from my girlfriend's iPhone to my phone. I can barely hear myself..
I decide to go to the Apple Store, and after 4 hours of waiting, following a diagnosis on their tablet, they tell me third-party screen and defective microphone, and on top of that! Original US iPhone. So no purchase protection on EU products.
Furthermore, the Apple advisor immediately noticed that the colors on my screen are dull compared to an original and much less scratch-resistant.
Result: I had to order a new US iPhone 7+ from Apple in exchange for mine for €369.
I’m going back next week to pick it up.
I sent the invoice to Backmarket and demanded a refund for their deception. I'm waiting for their response
If their response is negative, I will file a complaint.
Backmarket and Chrono-vente to be avoided.-

Hello, I had a bad experience. You might save a little, but the quality of the products is poor... It's functional for now, so I can't return it, but it's clear it won't last long. If I had added 15 euros more, I would have had a new one. I'm disappointed, I will never order from this site again... I tried... too bad for me.

Hello
I bought a refurbished shiny Samsung S7. I received it 48 hours later and it was perfect, not a scratch! However, I quickly realized that the microphone wasn't working. So I reported it the same day to customer service, who replied within 15 minutes at 9:30 PM. I returned it 2 days later. They asked me if I would prefer a refund or to exchange the phone. I chose the refund after seeing the reviews on this site. I received the refund in my account 48 hours after their email confirming the receipt of the phone. Customer service was really super efficient and fast! I want to congratulate them +++ -
Hello, I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus today online from the Back Market site because I set a reasonable price at 220 euros. Do you think my iPhone will work properly? Thank you in advance for your response.

I think that Back Market is a good site, you just have to believe in it. If your product doesn't work or if there are other issues, Black Market will find solutions, but you have to give them time. I trust them.

Hello,
I just received my phone yesterday from the Backmarket website. I chose the largest one.
Upon opening the box, I found an externally new phone, so I was delighted and satisfied with my purchase. After a few hours of use, I realized that even in silent mode, my phone makes the "click" sound of the camera across all applications (Snapchat, Instagram, camera, etc.). I then went to an Apple store to have my phone checked, thinking this issue could be resolved at the Apple Store. The advisors told me, after only handling my phone, that it was an Apple product, but of Japanese origin, which was not set up in the same way as the European ones, and therefore, our applications were not compatible with their operating system. The problem being that almost all products from the Backmarket website come from Japan and therefore do not comply with European standards. I strongly advise against this site. I reached out to them to arrange a return of the phone as well as a refund.-

I ordered 2 phones on Back Market from the refurbisher exporexport and I'm thrilled. But I realized that I could have directly ordered from the official seller's website.
-
I ordered 3 iPhones, I took the time to choose them based on their grade, I advise against buying used ones, on the other hand like all other sites, refurbished ones do not guarantee the battery's wear, that remains the downside, from second-hand, 2 shiny grade iPhone 6s, one 6s plus, which works very well I bought it 14 months ago, so I recommend it, !!!!! because I have tested Cdiscount and Amazon for refurbished and it's just nonsense,
Back Market has also implemented a Back Market label with additional checks on the devices...-
Hello Estelle,
The grades indeed determine the aesthetic condition of the device. So you must make your choice with full knowledge of the facts :)
As you mentioned, the "Back Label" is a quality guarantee given to certain high-performing merchants, both in the quality of their products and in the service they provide to customers.
In any case, I’m glad to hear that you are satisfied!

I have never had a problem; three years ago I ordered a silver iPad Pro, no issues, in perfect condition, not even a scratch, and this year an iPhone 7 Plus, no problems, not even a visible scratch. Anyway, nothing replaces the physical store—seeing and testing before buying. Plus, even though I haven’t had any issues, I no longer buy any electronic devices because, in any case, all these items cost more than they are really worth, even when new. Don't you realize that a digital SLR costs around €400 for the low-end, which is about 3700 francs?! Let's think, who back in the francs era wanted to spend 4000 francs on a camera? Certainly not me at the time. A refurbished iPhone should cost around €600 these days, almost 5700 francs?!!!!! That's half a salary back then with a good salary!!!!!
So no way, never again. -
First experience with Back Market ...and last
phone arrived on time but not in quality after buying a case to hide the misery and after 7 months of use the motherboard is dead, request for coverage and well no nothing at all despite the Apple Store report on the internal condition, screws wandering around in the phone, product not iPhone (screen and earpiece)
and having discussed with a colleague, same adventure, in short, sell before 6 months !!!!!!!!! -
Another very unfavorable opinion on BM. A Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini mobile phone purchased in shiny condition (and indeed, nothing to say about the external state) whose screen flickered and then went off after about twenty days of use. Message to customer service, great support, return to the seller within two days. Then nothing for three weeks, before receiving a message
"Hello Cyrille, Unfortunately, your device cannot be repaired. However, it meets the criteria to be covered by your vendor's warranty. Therefore, your vendor will replace your device with an equivalent as quickly as possible (or refund you, if the exchange is not possible). You can check the status of your order anytime via this link: https://api.revers.io/ReverseDocumentService/v1/r/j7i997i Sincerely, Cécile from your customer service"
OK, all good, everyone can make mistakes and they take responsibility. So, I was happy, I recommended an article on the site.
And then, 5 days later
"Hello Cyrille, I am getting back to you to inform you that, unfortunately, the warranty does not cover breakage, oxidation, or any potential drop of your phone. Opening the product by a third party (other than the refurbisher) is also an exclusion clause of the warranty. Indeed, the seller has the right to refuse the handling of your phone. I remain at your disposal for more information and wish you a good day, Best regards, Sara from your Customer Service."
Taken aback, I contact the platform, which tells me that the first message was a mistake and that my phone has been damaged... by water!! I specify that I have used it in a perfectly normal manner, sure the weather is humid but still... Anyway, at best, a phone that was poorly inspected/refurbished, the seller and the platform do not take responsibility for that. At worst, a phone identified as defective and slipped to the first fool who came along. A good life lesson anyway, it will teach me not to be fooled by cheap marketing (I have to admit they are good at that!). -
And yes, like others before me, I succumbed to the allure of this site: interesting prices, a quirky sense of humor, a feeling of attention paid to the buyer.
To make a long story short and not to overwhelm you with my back-and-forth with customer service, I will be direct: Back Market is an intermediary, takes your money and that's it. If the repairer considers you responsible for the malfunction, it will cost you at least 30 euros just to get your smartphone back. No discussion possible.
Paying less for a device with a really weak battery is one thing, being extorted by the repairer with no response from Back Market is another, and it makes you want to look elsewhere. -
Hello - I just ordered an iPhone 7+ 32 GB gold
I received an old pink iPhone 16 GB
no phone number to speak to someone
only by email to redirect you to another supplier...
I admit I'm very, very afraid of having lost 500 euros... -
I will give a moderate review. I am unhappy with the Samsung S6 that I just received from Backmarket. Like many other reviews I have read on this forum, I do not recommend this site.

Hello
There's nothing preventing you from greeting upon entering...Participants are people, not machines. Please use simple forms of politeness.

Hello everyone
Thank you Schichnaya for your opinion, which is also mine.
Samsung S6 received on time and very clean but network issue (they should have reset the mobile)
Battery problem almost dead.
I understand even less as the French factory where the smartphones are refurbished seems very reliable, according to a TV report.
I’m not saying that Backmarket is bad, I’ll just avoid it in the future. -
Hello, I would like to know if this backmarket is fake or not because for the moment I am hesitant to order.
-
Hello everyone
If I am dissatisfied with Backmarket, to avoid just blaming this sales platform, I will refer to a recent TV report "Should you buy a refurbished smartphone?", it didn't answer no, but it didn't answer yes either. The danger is to end up with a device that can no longer take it, even if it has been thoroughly reviewed. Let’s compare it to a car with 250,000 km that has been very well maintained. That’s not enough; the wear is definitely there.
While it's true that I won't buy from Backmarket anymore, I won't buy from any other refurbished mobile site either. Too much risk...
