Unable to install antivirus on XP SP3

What message do you get when you try to install which antivirus?

If you suspect a virus, clean up with AdwCleaner

Install RegRun Reanimator

Click on "Fix problems".

Click on "Scan windows startup...".

Check the box "Use deep level scanning once (For advanced users)".

Click on "Make scan now".

Wait during the scan.

Click on "Fix problems".

Be careful, it detects false positives.

Make sure to only delete malware (with Get it out), otherwise you could crash your system.

Pass with the arrow for the others.

Reboot at the end.

If you're not sure what to delete or not, you better ask for help.

Since you just reinstalled your Windows, I don't think the system drive is in the red??

For chkdsk: press the Windows key "the one with the flag" and the R key, and in the run window, type

CHKDSK /f /r don't forget the space between chkdsk and / and then between f and /

and confirm with ok

It will tell you that it cannot do it because one of the disks is in use and will ask you if you want to do it on the next startup, press Y for yes, the letter o not the 0 zero

Then restart the PC and let it run

For sfc /scannow: Start a command prompt as administrator as follows:

Click on Start/(All) Programs/Accessories

Right-click on Command Prompt.

Choose Run as Administrator.

• In the black window that opens, copy-paste the following command:

sfc /scannow



(there is a space between sfc and /scannow).

Then press the Enter key.

The scan will begin, which may take a while

So, be patient!

• At the end, Windows will tell you if it was able to repair or not and will ask you to restart the PC to complete the repair
