Remove boot from a hard drive

Hello,

Here’s my problem, when I purchased an SSD, and not wanting to format my old disk, I copied Windows onto my SSD and set it in the BIOS to boot from it.

The problem is that I now have two boot disks, and I would like to simply remove the fact that my storage disk is a boot disk.

I’m not sure if I was clear.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hello,
You didn't specify whether your first one is an HDD or also an SSD, but in any case, I can't answer your question right now without more information. Let me know if it's an HDD or also an SSD and I'll help you.
If your first one is an HDD, check the jumper of your HDD.
If your jumper is set to master, your computer will always boot from your HDD. Jumper. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRHilQBxez9T_XJ1ftp105aE2FBHrPLIBiK5ZSE96Ij9TK_aAg8Bw
You need to set your jumper to Slave for your PC to boot from your SSD.
A jumper looks like this: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQPqaV1QCmw_bfJ_GUVFuIvyKt6xE3koIZGEw-YUWnlZtczGOru
Best regards, keep me posted.

Hi,

You have been asleep for 15 years and a prince has just awakened you. The "master" and "slave" jumpers refer to IDE drives. Everything is now SATA and there haven't been jumpers for a long time.

To answer the question asked, simply set the partition of the SSD in question to "inactive" using diskpart, for example.

Lol you’re right but he didn’t specify when his PC was from so all hypotheses are valid!
Sorry
Best regards.
