How to add accents on a Samsung tablet

I can't put accents on words with my Samsung tablet.

    Good evening!

    You just need to press and hold the corresponding letter. After one or two seconds, a pop-up will appear on the letter, and you just have to slide your finger, still without releasing, towards the desired accent. When you release your finger, the letter and its accent are displayed ;-)

      Problem solved thanks to your advice. Thank you, but I have a strong impression that Samsung (or Google?) has resolved the malfunction, because my tablet shut down and I had to reset it (password).
