Hello,

I'm finishing my thesis and I have a problem with aligning the numbers to the right in my automatic table of contents. I have Word 2010 for Mac. I'm unable to align them correctly. The titles in the table have different fonts from those in my work. I’m not quite sure what to do anymore.
Could you please help me?
Thank you very much in advance!!!

Best regards.

Florian

Hello Florian,

There is no Word 2010 on Mac, it's probably version 2011.
I'm on PC but it shouldn't be very different.
In an automatic table of contents, the font and the alignment of the page numbers are linked to styles TOC1, TOC2, TOC3, etc.
By default, these styles update automatically when you change the formatting of the table of contents.

Right alignment is achieved by a right tab. If you click in the table of contents, you should see a small black angle positioned to the right in the horizontal ruler. You can drag it in the ruler to the desired position. You do this for each level and then update the table of contents.
If the modification is retained, everything is fine. You can also take this opportunity to modify the typography if you want.
If the table of contents does not remember the changes, you need to modify each TOCx style used to set the right tab and the font.

Thank you sooo much!!!!
You saved me! ;) It was really simple in the end. Finally, it looks like something.
It was the finishing touch for my final project.
Thanks again.
